Description

Pre-Mixed Vinyl Spackling is a general purpose, water- based spackling compound for patching holes and nailheads quickly and easily in plaster, wood, wallboard and stucco. Specially formulated for easy application and sanding, it dries fast and holds tight. If the product is dry or harder than desired, simply add a couple drops of water and mix and it will return to a creamier consistency. I use this for my Artwork. Mixes very well wirh my acrylic paints or micas. Dries very nicely with no cracking or shrinking. Great for use in a Piping bag, pallete knives or even just your hands. Can mix a little water or acrylic paints to make it creamier if desired. Why pay for Modeling Paste at an Art store for basically the same thing but A LOT LESS product. The spackle itself is good. Soft and easy to spread, it dries fast and is easy to work with. BUT the jar is another story. The lid is horrible. It doesn't stay put when you close the pot in any way. I have a hard time every time I have to fit it on the pot. Since the lid doesn't stay in place, the spackle turns hard inside the pot. I had to put adhesive tape around the lid to prevent it from detaching and destroying the product. It loses a star because of it. ... show more

The vinyl repair material went on easily and excess cleaned off very easily as well. After drying, I painted it and it is almost impossible to tell where the repair was made. Very happy!

Redoing a strip in the bathroom. This old guy rates it as great and easy for the DIY guy. and, a couple coats of paint and you can't see the repair! I amaze myself! Oh yeah, easy to clean up for us sloppy guys too.

We have a large curved arch ceiling that suffered because the roof was not properly vented. Be sure the prep work includes getting the surface dust and particle free. If the holes in the plaster are not shallow, do several thin layers. The consistency of this is excellent. The task is laborious, but the end result is worth it. I add a plastic wrap layer to the top of the product after I'm done before resealing the container, and I always use a mud pan (or whatever) so as not to contaminate the container with particles. ... show more
