So, fortunately my truck is brand new and the holes aren't all mucked up and such, so I was able to finger thread everything for a significant distance, which was a great help. Assembling the unit wasn't anything special, but mounting the unit has a few tricks. The first bolt goes into the frame, but you do need to leave enough room for the unit to slide up under the bolt, so don't forget that part. The unit has to be collapsed to get the second bolt in through the unit, which means you need a socket and extension to slide the bolt in and hand-tighten. Then, extend the step and put the last bolt in and hand tighten as much as you can because the clearance is low and if you have to start using the wrench too soon you might as well get a pillow. Unfortunately, the combo end of the wrench wouldn't go on until the very end or everything would have been much faster. All in all, the quality of the step is very good, and it is very stable. Well worth the time to install. Also, I didn't do it, but jacking the truck up so that you can actually sit up under it would make it a lot easier to get to everything without doing a constant half sit-up. (helps your core, right?)

Install takes about 5 minutes if you have a 14mm ratchet wrench rather than a socket that seems to be a much better option for tightening the alignment bolt at the end. Not necessary but very helpful. Quality of all the materials seems to be great.

This step is 4x cheaper than OEM and looks to be neary identical. Has good weight to it, the materials feel very sturdy, and the spring tension for the step operates smoothly. This step should last a long time. Easy to install and has a perfect OEM looking fit on a 2025 Tacoma. Don't hesitate if you're on the fence between this and OEM.

Very nice product! Looks oem and is 1/3 the price! Holds my weight just fine, instructions are a bit confusing to understand but its a pretty straightforward install so its not a big deal, i would definitely recommend this if you want a bed step that isn’t gonna cost you an arm and a leg like the oem would, i was personally just gonna get the oem but decided id see how this works first and if it wasn’t up to my expectations i would have returned it, but it works great and looks like the oem part so im definitely keeping this, if something goes wrong with it in the future, i’ll just buy another but i dont see that happening

Easy setup and strong enough to jump on. I just make sure to step closer towards the back where the step is actually bolted down.

I bought this February 2025. Still working great. Install was easy. I don’t know why the 1 star reviews saying its hard to install, bolt holes don’t align, not all 3 will go in. I found all that to be BS. I was able to get all 3 bolts in with no issues. Install was no issues at all.
