I purchased this item for one purpose only. To sustain life during a survival situation regardless of what that situation might be. I purchased this item with that goal in mind. With that said, I'll note a few thoughts on this product. In deciding products to purchase, I ordered samples from various companies. Although I do not plan to open this bucket until needed in an emergency, I did try out Wise Foods sample entrees. I can say that they were packed well in bags with oxygen absorbers in each bag. When preparing the meals, I took heed of some other reviews about water amounts and started with a little less that half the water called for. With the stroganoff, this produced an extremely thick sauce and crunchy noodles. After adding about 1/4 cup over half what is called for, the sauce thinned a bit to a nice creamy texture and the noodles became soft. The flavor was better than tolerable but not great simply because I don't care for super salty foods. The serving size is a bit small but I felt fulfilled despite that. Contrary to some other reviews I have seen, I did not feel excessively thirsty afterward. This is not something I would ever take camping nor would I ever use this food as a quick meal at home. What I did discover, however, was that this food is more than acceptable to survive on when there is nothing else. That is what this food was meant for and that is what I am using it for. For that reason, I am comfortable giving this product 5 stars. I would very much rather eat this than eating a stray cat, insects, or raw rat meat. One final note. Many reviews mention the excessive salt. I have found that every long term food storage product I have looked at had just about the same salt content per serving. Wise foods seem to have a little less than some other brands but it's still up pretty high. I, for one, won't be complaining about that when I'm starving to death.

For long term survival food it’s really tasty and doesn’t have a crazy amount of sodium. I like it because it’s not over seasoned or bland. I’m very picky about long term food so I was skeptical. I’m a believer now. Very pleased 👍

DAUGHTER RECENTLY MOVED TO FAR NORTHERN ALASKA TO TAKE A JOB AS A NURSE. FOOD IS REALLY HARD TO COME BY UP THERE PLUS ITS VERY EXPENSIVE. I SHIPPED HER ONE OF THESE BECAUSE POUND-FOR-DOLLAR IT IS A VERY GOOD VALUE, FULL OF HEALTHY FOOD TO SUPPLEMENT WHAT SHE BUYS AT THE LOCAL STORE IN TOWN. NICE BUCKET WHICH WILL COME IN HANDY WHEN EMPTY. THE ADDED VALUE IS THAT AMAZON "PAYS THE FREIGHT" TO GET IT TO HER. If you are purchasing this READYWISE - Prepper Pack Bucket, 52 Servings, be aware that it only has 1 of each, so it has: 1 cheesy macaroni serving 1 creamy pasta and veg serving 1 southwest rice and beans serving 1 Pasta alfredo serving 1 Apple cinnamon serving 1 Brown sugar Mpl cereal Serving. 1 Orange drink mix. Thats all. How ever they promote it saying its 6 servings and this can be extremely confusing for someone who expected example: 6 bags of cheesy Macaroni like I did. Nope It's just 1 bag, which says it has 6 serving, and from experience, that supposed 6 serving amounts to 1 or 2 meals if you decide to half the portions for some reason. It's actually just 1 meal in my book. Me personally I bought this thinking it was like the 30 day version of the cheesy macaroni as I only want macaroni but im not seeing a macaroni only version in large portions so I got this. I thought it was 6 bags of each, not 1 bag claiming to be 6 servings. So im rather frustration that I spent money on this.
