This does all the standard functions with ease. It runs a bit quieter than some I have owned in the past. The 1,000 watts in this size heats up all the things efficiently. There is a safety feature requiring you to push the stop button before the door will open. The quick start guide tells you how to disable that and I suggest you do. I got the red one. Looks great in the kitchen. The red really sets it off. Heats very well, twice as fast as my old microwave. Runs very quiet. Can’t hardly tell if it’s running unless you’re really close to it. Interior light is nice and bright. Great display, easy to use.

    • Alas, poor microwave

I really liked this microwave for the nine or so months it worked. The color is perfect and it did a good job. However, suddenly, the microwave started causing issues (I bought the microwave in April 2015 and used it up until last week with no issue), either causing other appliances/lights/etc. to turn off, or just shutting itself down. There have been no changes in my house that would account for the issue, and the microwave caused this issue when I tested various outlets on different circuits throughout the house. Since I had no issues with my previous microwave or any other high-power-draw item in my house, and I just bought a cheap new microwave and it is causing no issues when used, unfortunately, I have to conclude that something is wrong with my lovely red microwave in less than a year. Edit: I have to revise my review as it turns out that PG&E's connection to my house was to blame, and this microwave just happened to draw down enough power to cause an issue.     • Always see the time on screen instead of heating time!

When my husband first used it, he thought the door was broken because he couldn’t open it to get the food back out after heating it. However, it apparently has this feature that doesn’t allow you to open it until the cook/heat time is cleared and the time is showing again. This is awesome because I hate glancing at a microwave to look at the time only to realize someone stopped the microwave mid-timer, and the time isn’t showing because they didn’t clear it!     • Randomly refuses to start.

Randomly refuses to start. I got it a few days ago and already it is messing up. Sometimes it just pretends to work (lights up, turntable spins, timer counts down) but it doesn't actually work, as in the microwave part of it doesn't turn on.

I love the bright red color! Brightens up my kitchen! It replaces a 1300 watt Panasonic microwave that bit the dust after 17 years of daily use! It’s taken me a while to get used to the lower wattage, trial and error but I’m adjusting. This microwave is very quiet and since I have no children in my house I quickly disengaged the child proof locking system and that was very easy. I wish I could turn OFF the clock, the clock light is very bright so I have to cover it with a red towel at night, other wise my kitchen is lit up. Very good price, so I’m hoping this one lasts many years for me too. So far so good! I’ve only had this for 2 months though, time will tell. RML ... show more
