Over the summer I inadvertently started an RC craze when I gave my grandson an RC racing car. Soon, his brother wanted one, their cousins wanted to have one and their best friend wanted one. Before long, the summer racing league was born and the kids race for bragging rights. I also joined them, but the RC car that I got has some big, natural rubber tires. It goes like mad, but with the big tires, it has a tendency to bounce and tip over easily. Our 'rule' is that if your car departs the racing track, you have to place your controller on the ground, go fix your car and then come back and resume racing. Needless to say, they dogged me relentlessly every time I bounced off the track or tipped over and I set about looking for a way to correct that. I have to say, this car is the answer and my first caveat is that it doesn't have a tissue dispenser for the kids. What I Like: This RC car is blistering fast. It gets up to full speed in seconds. The 'crazy wheels' let this car drift, making cornering and passing other cars a real breeze. Our track has 13 corners, two of them are hairpin turns and I have mastered getting around the kids with the ability to drift through the corners, swing out wide and then letting the car whip right past them. Two dimensional body shape. With the flick of a button the car can be made 'flat' for greater speed and then when you approach the 'obstacle' portion of the track (a gravel mound, a cargo pallet that is supposed to simulate moguls, a pile of small logs and a section of gravel driveway that leads to my shop) the body shape can be made taller to navigate over the obstacles without worry of getting high centered. Battery life is pretty good. You don't realize how quickly the time passes when you are racing, but it does last about 30 minutes per charge. Two batteries. It takes more than an hour to fully recharge a depleted battery, but with two of them you can have one charging while the other is being used. The controller has a very nice range. Our track is about 300ft total and we stand in the middle and at the furthest point, the cars are more than 100ft away and they respond to the controller inputs very well. The 2.4Ghz controller signal doesn't interfere with any of the other cars so everyone with the battery power can race without any problems. The controller is shaped sorta like an Indy car steering wheel and it fits the hand nicely, even for the little ones. Pretty rugged body that can handle the rigors of the racing track. It's taken a few tumbles and I've managed to knock it up against several objects, but it's still intact and going strong. This RC car also features lights, music and wrist/hand controller. The lights are cool (multi colored LED's that randomly change color) and the kids like them. They look good at dusk. The music is repetitive and you can turn it off. The wrist controller isn't going to do much for you outdoors, but indoors you can perform a lot of tricks in a small area. What I Didn't Like: My caveats: You canNOT charge the battery without removing it. For the life of me I cannot figure out why they keep doing that. A simple USB-C port on the side would allow a simple plug in and let you charge much faster. Also, the connecting wires are pretty small, about 18 or 20 gauge, and they won't take much mishandling before they break or get pulled out from the connector. The battery door incorporates a small screw to keep it closed. You need the tiny screwdriver (supplied) to remove the battery cover and that screw is really small and can separate from the cover and get lost. It's something else that confuses me as to why they choose this method over a simple spring tab that would keep the door closed just as well. Other than that, this is a really fun off road racing RC car. It is blistering fast, corners wildly, can do an assortment of tricks and is pretty rugged to handle what racing can throw at it, making this an x-o-lent purchase.

This car is very much like some others I've used with the multi-directional wheels. It has some fun functionality with the body lift for running around outside and over obstacles. Batter life is about as stated and so is charge time. The remote works well and has an ok range, but the wrist remote is not really all that useful.

The media could not be loaded. This is such a cool toy for my 6yo. Versatile on the floor, carpet, and dirt. Remote range is impressively good. Battery life is decent. I appreciate that it comes with 2 batteries so we don’t ever have to wait for one to charge but always have one spare one waiting as you know kids aren’t very patient. Only complaint I have is that the wheels doesn’t have colorful lights. I presumed from advertising that it did but no lights.
