  • 3 channel rc airplane
Model: P-51D
So I gotta say I'm quite impressed with this little rc airplane its well made so it has no problem surviving a crash an it flies very well I have gotten into these rc planes about a year ago an have a few smaller ones now an this is by far the easiest one to operate it's not as fast an acrobatic as my 4 channel p40 however this is a much easier plane to fly an in turn has made me better at flying the faster 4channel plane making this a great choice as a beginner plane its fast enough to have some fun with but is very controllable an doesn't require quite as big of an area to fly as the 4 channel an as far as the battery life it does well to it comes with 2 batteries an depending on how much throttle you use u can get 20-30min of flight from each battery this plane also glides well meaning u can get it up in the air an stall the throttle an glide it where alot of the faster ones nose dive if u stall the throttle it also does quite well in light to moderate wind for a smaller plane and once u get good with it u can use the wind to go faster an do more acrobatic moves this takes practice as does flying the plane but this one is definitely easier to figure out than some of the faster ones . The included 3 channel 2.4g controller also has a good range an iv never had any connection issues even when the plane ended up further away than I wanted so overall I would definitely highly recommend this plane especially for beginners looking to learn how to fly rc planes since they definitely take some skill to fly an the worse thing u can do is spend a bunch of money on a nice fast expensive plane only to lose it because u don't yet have the skills necessary to fly a fast acrobatic plane but if u start with something like this an gain the skills then work your way up to something faster since the control configurations are pretty much the same once u master this one u will be much more comfortable flying something faster an honestly for the price I don't think your going to find a better plane ... show more

  • Nice Entry-Level RC Plane
Model: P-51D
This is a great entry-level RC plane, and is great for a young RC pilot to learn. It is capable enough to fly in slight winds, and performs mostly well at high and low speeds. Its gyros do a fairly good job of keeping it steady, although there were a few times in my flight where it wobbled back and forth after some turns, but it caught itself pretty quickly. The controller is small, but functional. Once the throttle is set, you can control all of the planes functions with one hand. There are a number of buttons on the controller that beep when pressed, but they didn't seem to have any function. The provided batteries keep their charge well enough. Each battery should give you a solid 10-12 minutes of flying. The plane is made of durable styrofoam. It is sturdy enough to withstand hard landings, and I even crashed mine into a light pole with no damage. Mechanics of the plane are pretty simple, so if you're looking for ailerons, flaps or rudder, look elsewhere. This plane has working elevators on its tail to control the pitch, but yaw is controlled by the two wing differential propellers. The central prop is just for looks. In all, this is a fantastic introduction to flying RC planes, with limited actual flight dynamics. It flies well and can handle most crashes with ease. But you will have to look elsewhere if you want actual flight dynamics. ... show more

  • Fun toy but not good for learning to fly an RC plane
Model: P-51D
It's a fun toy. It's easy to fly in a wide open space. It's light and well made - so it takes a beating and still works. The landing gears that I got were bent and out of shape so we had to re-shape it kind of work...but the wheels don't spin so well so it's hard to land it well. We just resorted to making sure we land it on grass to minimize damage. Main issue with this is that it doesn't fly like a plane...it flies like a mix of a drone and a plane. Only controls it has is speed of the two motors up front and the elevator in the back. Only way this plane turns is to use difference in motor speed - so it takes a while for it turn and it needs lot of space. It has no ability to roll either so you can roll + elevator to turn quickly. So there is no way to explain the concept of flight controls to a beginner using this rc plane. If you just want to fly it and have fun, this will work fine. If you want to fly it like a real plane...this won't be enough. ... show more

  • Very nice product
Model: P-51D
OK, so we got this for an X-mas gift and I just gave it a little test for the review. It is a nicely built plane. It comes with 2 rechargeable batteries, 1 in the box and the other is already in the body of the plane, but not connected. The instructions do not show a step on how the battery should be loaded into the plane. I found that it works well if you remove the battery and extend the wire all the way out to make the connection. Then insert the battery and tuck the wires around the sides and top to keep the battery from shifting during flight. The plane uses the 2 small props on the wings to power the craft, the main propeller is just for show. The remote links to the craft by turning on a micro switch at the bottom of the plane and turning the remote on. The controls work similar to a drone the left stick is up and down to control prop speed. The right stick up and down controls the elevators for climb and decent, left and right on the right stick controls direction. I held it and revved up the motors and the thing wants to fly. As it will be a gift I fought back the urge to run outside and give it a spin. It comes with spare propellers in case of any mishaps. Needless to say a nice open space will be needed to fly. My guess would be a hand launch if grass and power take-off on pavement. All in all it looks like it will be fun. Happy Flying. ... show more
