I love these foam airplanes and wish they had them when I was a kid. These planes are only 2 channel ones which mean that the only controls are speed and left and right turn. When you accelerate the plane, it tends to climb and when you slow down (without turning) it sends to descend. So you can adjust your altitude by speeding up or slowing down. Turning is pretty normal and behaves much like a rudder control, except that the plane uses speeds up a motor on one side to push it towards the opposite direction, this also tends to keep the plan level while turning, even with no throttle applied. The 2CH control keeps things simple while at the same time still allows enough control to have a ton of fun flying it for people of all ages. The plane comes with two batteries which I think is sufficient as it gets you easily 20 minutes of flight time. My only gripe with the plane is the two rudders in the back. They are meant to slide on to attach, but they don't seem to hold very well. After my first trip out to fly the plane I was a bit annoyed that everytime I crashed the plane that I would have to reattach both rudders. For my next trip out I simply glued the rudders in place and never had to deal with reattaching them again. I like that it also comes with a spare set of props and the prop guards. I do not use the landing gear as I usually fly in a field where the small wheels are all but useless for me. They would be useful if I were taking off or landing on something really smooth like a basketball or tennis court. Usually I hand launch the plane by setting it at half throttle and then doing a light overhand toss. My 5-year-old was able to learn how to fly this after about a half-dozen tries. ... show more

They advertise this as having a gyroscope chip inside to help it keep stable in flight. Well, they are very correct. I can easily take off from standing start on the tennis court, up and away. It doesn't do well on a windy day of course, as it's so light it gets blown around easily. However on a calm day it really shines. Pretty basic controller, nothing complicated. You will be flying with confidence in 10 minutes. Of course that's about the time you will need to land and put in the second battery! For only $37, this one is a bargain for how well it flies.     • Way better than expected
I was really surprised by this Rc airplane. Normally things like this are built so cheap they barely last a day but this ones has done really well First off — Flying. It’s two channel so you’ll end up flying it at mid throttle most of the time to maintain a mostly constant altitude. Full power will have you clinging and cutting power will allow you to descend. Turning is by the opposing motors and it has two “levels”. A basic or beginner level and then a more advanced, steeper turning option. The flying itself was a bit awkward at first but you quickly get the hang of it. My 8 and 10 year old were able to get it turning and do figure 8s and circuits pretty quickly. Durability - this was really suprising. The foam itself is dense and strong but not brittle. I’ve managed to crash, had a few hawks attack it, and finally after doing low passes over an 80 pound puppy he finally caught it and it still survives and flys just fine. The only damage that’s been done are the vertical stabilizers, they slide in and don’t attach well. A few drops of hot glue get them in permanently and it’ll be good to go.
