Description

Original IKARUS RC Flight Controller with USB port for all Windows and Mac versions of aeroflyRC. Simply connect the RC Flight Controller to a free USB port on your computer. It is automatically recognized by the system and can be used with both the download and DVD versions of aeroflyRC. It is delivered in Mode 2 (throttle left); conversion to Mode 1 (throttle right) is possible. In addition to the four control functions for elevator, aileron, rudder, and throttle, this controller has additional switching and proportional channels. With the controller, all special functions such as retractable landing gear, flaps, etc. can be conveniently operated from the controller. The RC Flight Controller has four trimmers on both control sticks.

This is a must have item if you really want to benefit from probably the best rc sim I've seen or used. I still had the old controller from the EasyFly days but since 8.1 and Win10 came along the os doesn't recognise the old one. This is much better in the sense that it is a 6 channel transmitter setup with a mixing switch and many other options. They, IKARUS, do offer alternative methods and products that will enable you to use your own radio, either USB or wireless connection. I bought this to use with AeroFly RC 7 on a MacBook. It paired and calibrated fairly easy. The fit and feel of the controller is a bit thin/cheap. It does not recognize the flaps or landing gear switches. The sticks are good, though. If anything changes, I will update my review. UPDATE: I have reduced my rating to one star. Since the first rating, I have been through two of these controllers. They work ok, but the USB plugs fall apart. The build quality is VERY low. ... show more

    • Use your own transmitter with adapter.
This controller pales by comparison to my Spektrum transmitters. It does not calibrate correctly, which is the main problem. I have attempted to set up on two different Macs. My fixed wing planes bank left even after adjusting the trim tabs. Response to the sticks is slow. I have finally gotten my Spektrum transmitters to work with Aerofly RC7 after ordering a new USB dongle (I have been in negotiations with Aerofly since February to get a replacement...I finally just bought one...better hope you never have to deal with Aerofly "support".). And to top this all off I found out today that my return window on Ikarus Aerofly RC7 flight controller closed two weeks ago. Sigh. ... show more

Tried two of these. Both failed very quickly. One lasted about 2 weeks. The 2nd one lasted about 3 days. Poor quality components is my best guess. Bought a different brand (bought this one so I could use it with Mac software). Ended up installing Windows on my Mac so I could have something good.
