The kids love these! The three year olds enjoyed them but weren't very good at being able to control them. The four and five year olds were far more capable of enjoying these for much longer. The quality itself is decent. I'm not sure how long these will last in the long haul, but they don't seem overly cheap or significantly worse in quality from other remote controlled vehicles in a similar price range.

The description says for boys aged 3-12. I politely disagree. I believe it should read: Any boy/man over the age of 7. Haha! My husband is 41, and his dad, is in his 70's. I have never seen so much excitement over a toy from them before. My husband met the amazon delivery guy at the door practically jumping up and down and the product did not disappoint. Both the vehicles operate just as expected and use batteries that are included in the package. Both remotes require two AA batteries as well, and they were not included. The package also included some BONUS accessories that were not pictured! There were couple plastic drums, 2 road cones, 2 barricade fences, and even a couple road signs in the box. The toys worked well both indoors on the hardwood floor and outside in the gravel, (which now has a few small bare spots where the "construction crew" has been digging.) Beach use...hours of fun! But they both struggled with getting stuck in the very loose sand. This is totally worth the price!

Age rating is wrong. States 3+, but product package is 8+. Remote may be simple, but fine hand control of a 4 year old is well below that of an 8 year old. Looks like I will be needing another gift on short notice.

I got these for my nearly 2-year-old, and they are awesome! He absolutely loves heavy machinery, and it’s even more fun since both his parents know how to operate the real ones. While the toys might be a bit advanced for him, with our help, he has a blast using them. The set is sturdy, and he enjoys the lights, sounds, and remote control features. A great option for little ones who are fascinated by construction vehicles!

My nephew loves this excavator and dump truck set. It can really grab dirt with the excavator and empty it with the dump truck. They are operated by remote control. They both have lights and sounds. They are made of good quality material and can withstand some rough play.
