The media could not be loaded. The toy arrived on the day promised, well packed, no damage when opened. I still have to put batteries and have my grandchild play with it. … He is now playing with it and I believe it will go with him to France where it will disturb his household until the two batteries ran out.

First, my son loves it. Second, it comes with two battery packs so he can keep playing while one is charging. Third, it actually works. And then it quit, after about 2 months of heavy duty play. The remote wouldn't connect (light flashing on remote). Contacted the company about it, because it has really good reviews and I didn't expect this. They are replacing it!! I sent them a video and explained the problem, and done! New excavator on the way! What a great company to do business with!

I opened and set up this toy before giving it to my grandson, and I'm glad I did. The directions were confusing. The batteries in the excavator will be extremely hard to switch out. This will definitely need to be done by an adult. I don't yet know how long they will last. You get two rechargeable battery packs for the excavator, which is good, but I don't know how long they will hold a charge. I think you should not use this toy outside because dirt and sand may mess it up. It does work well on carpets. The box says for ages 6+ but I would recommend this toy for kids 4 and 5 years old, not older. Older kids would get bored with it. It doesn't actually scoop up very much. My grandson will like it, but it won't last that long because the screws to change the batteries will eventually get stripped, or the plug to attach them to the excavator or the charger will break. Did I mention it is very difficult to change the batteries?

I bought the excavator for my grandson who lives out of state. He played with it a little when he came to visit at Christmas and then it wasnt working quite right. I contacted customer service and they responded instantly and sent a replacement. I have never had such outstanding service. I will definately buy more toys from them as I know I can count on them to stand by their product which is rare in this day and age. Kudos!

My son got this for xmas and loves it. Slight effort needed to swap out battery (unscrew cover which is very typical for kids toys these days) but not huge deal. Edit: 2 weeks after Xmas and this toy still getting used very heavily. Probably the most favorite toy of Xmas day — my son absolutely loves it. I left in the rain accidentally last night and after drying out it still works fine. Really pleased.
