The Huayee HY16c is a superior machine. The latest upgrade has several features not to be found on other Chinese excavators. It will take a month or more to get your machine, which means, oftentimes buyers have paid their credit card bill before they get their machines. There is a very serious disconnect between Amazon and Huayee. I ordered my excavator on November 29, knowing at the time delivery would be between December 22 and 31. Soon after my order, Amazon status was changed to shipped and my credit card was billed. The excavator certainly was not shipped. On December 18, an owners manual was delivered to my mailbox, and Amazon changed the status to delivered. After that, status remained delivered and Amazon disavowed any knowledge of the real status of the real excavator. In chat, 5 different Amazon associates directed me to contact the seller, Huayee, which I did and requested shipping status. Amazon used this contact as a request for refund, and started a review. Huayee contacted me and asked me to please withdraw “all the backcharges.” On the Amazon website, I withdrew the refund request, which I had not requested, 3 times because Huayee was told by Amazon there was a refund request. Every time I was contacted by Huayee, I asked where my excavator was and when would it be delivered. They did not know, but they said they would notify me when the excavator arrived in their warehouse. This never happened. On December 29 I got a text from the shipper, RPM, who said they were going to deliver in 2-1/2 hours. It actually took 7 hours and I had to drive 10 miles with my trailer to meet the driver at a shopping center to pick up my excavator after midnight. I do not know what the outcome might have been had I not had a trailer capable of carrying 1.6 tons. The excavator ran out of fuel halfway between the trailers. Fortunately, I carried fuel with me. Happily, my excavator started right up, and after refueling, rolled right up on my trailer. I only have 2.4 hours on the machine, and that was in heavy rain, but I learned enough to know the Huayee HY16c, upgraded version, is an excellent machine in all respects. Buyers should understand from the outset, that delivery status will not be available because the delivery process is chaos. Amazon, Walmart, Winn Dixie and many independent HuayeeUSA dealers are preselling these machines without even estimates as to when delivery can be expected. ... show more

    • Great little excavator for the money
This is a great little excavator FOR THE MONEY. Its not a 30k machine, so don't expect that level of features and you'll be happy with the purchase. Its not as jerky as some other cheap excavators, but not as smooth as the name brands that cost double to triple. Perfectly fine for digging trenches for water or electric lines. Operator station is a good size for the size of the machine, very comfortable to operate after minor modification mentioned below. Two minor complaints or areas for improvement: 1. The thumb seems the right size for the excavator without the quick attach, but since this comes with the quick attach, the bucket extend about 8 inches further and doesn't line up with the thumb well. Its hard to pick up medium size branches or logs and impossible to pick up smaller stuff. While it can grip larger logs or rocks like 12" diameter pretty easily, this size of this machine isn't intended to lift that much weight. It would be great if the machines that come with a quick attach also came with longer thumbs. 2. The pilot control on the left get very hot near the seat. I find my left leg touching that control near the base and it gets uncomfortably warm. I've had to add some insulating foam to keep from burning my leg. ... show more

Very pleased with the excavator, as described. Order was confirmed by Los Angeles Huayee office, delivery was great and follow-up call by Huayee to make sure all went well with the equipment and to answer any questions.

Plenty of grease points. Handles well for size. Has limits. Not a huge machine but Kubota engine should make parts easier to aquire.
