The boat worked for less than 5 minutes. We put it out on a shallow pond in the neighborhood, and after driving it around for a couple minutes, it just stopped going anywhere. The lights were working and you could hear the motor running, but it wouldn’t go forward or backward. It was just stuck in the middle of the pond, drifting, no matter which buttons we pressed. I stepped into what I thought was 2 inches of water to try to retrieve it, and the mud on the bottom of the pond sucked my legs down until it was up to my knees. I managed to get back to the shore, but the mud sucked my shoes off my feet, gone forever. We decided at that point to just leave the boat, as there was no way to get it out safely. So not only are we out a boat, I am out a pair of shoes as well. Unless you are using this in a pool or a safe place to swim, I do not recommend this boat. I thought we’d get at least a day’s use out of it. But not even 5 minutes? I’m assuming one or both of the propellers came off, as it came with extra propellers. But I have no way of knowing now.

***Seller reached out to offer replacement. Update is the replacement we received is much better in regards to water inside & smell of motor burning. We've used the new one 2x and have not had any issue with water seeping inside, nor any issues w/ the motor smelling like it's burning. We're grateful for the replacement*** Bought for my nephew & he likes it. It works, I am hesitant on how long it will work though. It has a decent speed initially. The battery lasts for a significant amount of time however after that 1st 15 min at most, speed decreases. The seal to keep water out needs improvement. We have some water inside where the battery connects, every single time we use it & a smell like the motor is burning out. I've made sure the cover is in properly as snug as it goes but still water every use. We also don't use the lights on it because that affects the speed as well. The battery life will keep it going for an hour, you will just continue to see the boat slow down more over that time. It's helpful that they include a 2nd battery, but the batteries take a long time to fully charge. Additionally, the remote control is not something you want to have in the water. It is not waterproof & there is an open slot where the batteries are stored. I didn't expect it to be waterproof but my nephew is bummed that he can't control it from him being in the pool as well.
