Designed with rear-wheel drive for better traction and balance control, the high-torque, chain-driven electric motor powers riders up to 14 mph (22 km/h), while the authentic MX-frame geometry and twist-grip throttle prepare riders for adventures on dirt. Additionally, a high/low-speed control switch allows parents to limit their child’s MX400 to a top speed of 10 mph (16 km/h) for younger riders and beginners.

Impressed with the quality compared to the cheaper model. Bike is about 2in taller. I bought this for my 6 yr old. I don’t know what they were thinking when they came up with the 13 yr old minimum age, unless the kid is a skinny midget, the bike will go about 2mph with a 130lb, 13 yr old on it. My son is roughly 50lbs and the bike goes fast on concrete, struggles in grass lawn. Bike needs more torque. But looks good and well built. $398 maybe be a little high given the bike struggles with a 50lb kid on short but thick lawn grass. I think my son will get a couple of years out of this bike. I would not buy for anyone older than 9 or 10 yr, and definitely not for a 13 yr old. If a 13 yr old can’t handle a bigger bike they are better off finding something else to ride. ... show more

Do not buy this dirt bike. Even fully charged it would not go up a moderate incline. When I tried to return it, they charged an absorbent restocking fee.
