  • Headphones stopped connecting to Xbox one after 3 months, customer support from Razer is bad.
When I received the product on late March this year the product worked as expected. The product met my expectations by delivering a great in game sound experience. In early July the headphones stopped connecting to my Xbox one. I check Razer's online support and implemented their recommendations. Product still didn't connect. I opened an incident with Razer and have been extremely unimpressed with the support personal , lets call him Dean, knowledge of this product. I am working and was hoping that they may give me a course of actions to take to resolve the problem. But this has not happened, maybe a perspective customer needs to be concerned about Razer's claim to provide wireless Xbox connections. I've been working for technical company's many years so I understand what a company promises must be delivered to the customer. This is how company's earn reputations. I will update my review out of fairness to Razer as I am now being given another support person, lets call him Alfred. ... show more

  • Disappointed. Frustrated. Let Down.
I was very excited about receiving my new headset, but that excitement quickly faded as I began to realize what I actually purchased. It boggles my mind that a product so terribly flawed can be sold at such a premium price. My Razer Nari Ultimate for-Xbox One (I only used this headset on my XBox) would occasionally randomly disconnect leaving me with zero audio and no microphone mid gaming session. The audio would frequently distort and phase out making everything sound like I was hearing it through the fan on my table. The microphone is too short making it very difficult to pick up your voice, and the material used to stabilize the Mic was so flimsy I couldn't keep the microphone where I placed it before it would droop back down out of usable range. The wireless range is at most ten feet and the battery life is about half as advertised. The headset does have a solid construction and was comfortable to wear. The audio coming from the speakers didn't seem to match the quality of the speakers themselves, and sadly I was not at all impressed by the sound quality or clarity. The Hypersense Haptic Feedback was pretty novel but definitely jarring while playing any kind of game that requires precision hearing and focus. Most subtle sounds are completely drowned out by the vibrations created by the Haptic Feedback, and the transition from Haptic Feedback can be pretty disorientating. Mic monitoring is so terrible as to be basically useless. The headphone create such a solid sound barrier that it is similar to wearing ear plugs, but this makes hearing your own voice very important while communicating and mic monitoring falls way short. I found myself speaking too loudly too often unable to monitor my own voice, but I guess this was necessary anyway since the mic could only pick up my voice if I was shouting. I have never felt so let down from a piece of gaming equipment. The only reason I give it 1 stars instead of zero is because they were at least comfortable to wear. I have given up on wireless headsets for the Xbox One. Every pair I have worn has fallen short of my expectations, none more than the Razer Nari Ultimate for-Xbox One. Buy a different pair and don't trouble yourself with this dumpster fire of a product. ... show more

  • Read below!!! Great headset, needs a few adjustments
Great headset, I game on xbox and pc but mainly xbox. I originally bought the pc edition of this headset from bestbuy thinking it would work with my xbox too, worked great for pc but for xbox there was absolutely no mic monitoring so no matter the volume of your headset people in party chat on xbox can hear your game volume. I returned this headset and bought the xbox one edition (IF YOU ARE USING THIS HEADSET FOR XBOX BUY THE XBOX ONE EDITION, DO NOT GET THE PC EDITION THE MIC WONT WORK). Overall its a really good headset just needs a few adjustments. Honest truth about everything is the sound is amazing and the haptic feedback is something out of this world. The hard plastic and metal around the headphones make it durable (to an extent) but also very light. I have been using this headset for 2 weeks and i am impressed altho there are some cons. The battery life lasts around 6-8 hours on fully charge depending on how sensitive you have the haptic feed back and if you have the RGB lights on. The manual is a little bit confusing and takes a while to figure out but once you do you can adjust the settings to your preference. Everyone once in a while before the headset dies (if you dont have it plugged in) the volume you briefly get a little staticky but its not to big of an issue. i wish you are able to fine tweak some of the settings because the mic monitoring definitely needs to be adjusted, if you raise the volume/haptic feedback the mic monitoring raises to cut some of the sound out and ends up cutting out your voice. So if you have the volume at a normal level its fine but once you raise it louder i have been getting complaints that my voice sounds like i am far away even though i cannot move my mic closer to my face. Lastly the intake vent for the mic gets rotated away from your face every time you adjust the headset so that also makes you sound like you are far away. Below i have some pros and cons. Pros •RGB lighting looks great •headset is durable and put together well nothing feels cheap •battery is not bad for the headsets capabilities •haptic feedback is amazing and sound quality is better than any other headset •microphone quality is great (after adjusting it for a bit) •very very comfortable to use for +10 hrs, ears do not get sweaty or sore. Very light not heavy at all •easy to pair with xbox Cons •occasional static when headset batteries are dying but goes away when you plug it in •micro-usb cord gets annoying after a while when you are using the headset while its plugged in •the manual is confusing and takes some time to understand how to adjust headset settings •needs a way to adjust mic monitoring •mic intake hole moves downward away from mouth when you adjust the headset or after a few hours of gaming •retractable mic is a little short but not that big of an issue •needs a way to adjust EQ for xbox Overall this is a great headset and i would buy it again. I do not recommend this headset to everybody, I recommend it to people who are patient and who dont mind dealing with the cons above and also to someone who will not abuse the headset as it will break with some decent force but a few drops is okay. ... show more

  • Broke with 1 year of LIGHT use, bad mic and connection Broke with 1 year of LIGHT use, bad mic and connection
Don’t normally write reviews, but figured I would save other people $200. When you pay that type of price for a headset, you expect a premium product. Not so with the Nari Ultimate for Xbox. Out of the box, they had great sound and the haptic feature is super cool and immersive. However, the haptic feedback drains the battery. From the beginner, I had constant mic issues. My friends would always say I need to turn my mic up, I’m too quiet. There is no way to do that on the Xbox one and the most help that Razer has is to make sure the mic is facing the right direction. Additionally, the connection is very spotty. The headset would crackle often then cut out and disconnect from the Xbox. I dealt with the mic and connection issues since it was a very comfortable and good sounding headset, though I turned off the haptic response. At just a few days over 1 year of owning the headset, the green plastic pieces on both sides of the headband have cracked and one side fell off completely. I’m sure it can still be used ok, but when you pay this type of money you want a product that will last. I contacted Razer support to get some help with a repair, replacement, or refund and was told that is not possible because the issue is deemed “customer induced”. Though I was inside the “Razer recommended parameters” for use, “acts of God” are not covered in their warranty policy. I used this headset very lightly for a year and treat my things with care. This is not an act of God, it’s an act of poor construction and the cheap materials. This experience has made me second guess myself for future and current Razer products that I own. This headsets only redeeming quality is its comfort and sound quality, but when you can barely talk to your squad either due to the mic being bad or the entire headset cutting out the pros definitely do not outweigh the cons. Not to mention the cheap materials used on the headband that will break in no more than a year. ... show more

  • Don't knock it till you try it. Best Xbox headset around.
For all you Xbox One players out there, I'm sure you know that Microsoft likes to make things very difficult when it comes to choosing a compatible headset. I tried multiple high end headsets like the Astro A50s (Always disconnected from the base randomly, sound quality doesn't match price) and the Corsair Virtuoso (Not compatible with Xbox, constant mic echos, would recommend for PS4/PC). With Xbox, I would recommend just buying a headset purpose built for it so you don't waste your time trying to get things to work properly. Out of the box, my Nari Ultimates were super simple to setup, the build quality is good and it is the most comfortable headset I've ever owned. The battery life is okay and the features are all integrated into the headset: Mix amp, volume/haptic, mute button, etc. The HyperSense technology really does work and adds another dimension to the game that I don't get with other headsets. While the rumble might be overbearing for some, I would recommend a very low setting for the haptics and fine tune the game audio to match. For games like Call of Duty/Battlefield I turn the haptics on its lowest setting but then change the audio feedback in the game to boost low sounds. That way the haptics are sensing those slight lows, adding a little rumble behind it while shooting weapons, explosions and just about everything in between. Overall I rated this 5/5 because for nearly $100 cheaper than Astro A50s, I got a much higher quality headset. I'm not too sure where people are getting problems with the microphone, my friends say I sound clearer than ever but maybe I got lucky or my friends are deaf. Either way, I would recommend these to anyone who is in the market and willing to drop some dough on a headset for Xbox. ... show more

  • Terrible Sound Quality and Overpriced
I purchased the Xbox One specific model for the wireless connection at a price of $200. For that price you expect to be “wowed” by the product. Unfortunately that isn’t the case with this headset. I wish I could say it was mostly a good product but I can’t say that without the fear that my pants would spontaneously combust, since as we all know, liar liar pants on fire. The microphone will barely pick up my voice unless I yell into it and even then it sounds like I’m at least 2 miles away from the microphone itself. The haptics are intriguing, but in most games it will distort the sound so bad that it’s almost unusable. Upon turning off the haptics the sound is good to great most of the time unless you play a game like modern warfare, in which case every big explosion will still distort the sound to the point that you feel like you’re in a party chat with a group of angry robots. Not even sophisticated high tech take over the world robots, I’m talking experimental, haven’t quite figured out the voice box yet, can barely stand up robots. The wireless connection (which is the reason I spent the extra money for the Xbox one specific model) is good, when it connects. At certain times apparently for no reason at all the headset won’t connect without having to manually re-pair the headset to the console which is incredibly frustrating when you just say down for some gaming after a long day of work and now you have to get back up and walk over to the console to pair it manually. With all that being said, the battery life is pretty good, the build quality is good, and it’s comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions, although it does get quite warm on your ears despite gel cooling cushions in the description. If the price was much lower this headset would have potential, but for $200 I wouldn’t recommend this headset to anyone, especially when there are so many better options at much better prices. ... show more

  • Amazing sound, tiny complaint
only thing i can really say that is negative is they are not super comfortable if you are wearing glasses. BUT The sound is so awesome on these things that i really don't care about that. The sides of the headset vibrate as bass based on what you are hearing. (you can toggle this feature off) If a enemy is to your right, you will only hear it on the right side of the set like all great headsets. I seen a lot of complaints about the mic, they just must have had bad luck i guess because the mic works great. I played numerous games already with numerous groups of people and nobody complained about how i sounded. 200 is a lot to pay for a headset in my opinion but it is worth it. Battery life is great too and the power cord is very long so you can play it while plugged in. The headset syncs with your xbox the same way you sync a controller, easy ... show more

  • Good Headset but Good Headset but
I love how immersive this headset really is. The Surround sound, base, and the Vibrating haptic feed back makes gameplay so immersive, the headset is light for it to be so very big, the headset is made of pure quality. The reason why I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes this headset can’t handle some of the games base from Modern warfare and it comes in with some distortions, the cooling cups don’t cool your ears for long and it can still get a little warm after about 2 hours of play. The haptic vibrating feature can get a little much after a couple of hours and last week it actually made me get a little dizzy and I had to switch back to my RIG 800 LX’s. Over all, this headset is amazing and I recommend this headset to anyone. Update as of 4/27/2021: I have the Nari Ultimate and when it works properly with the haptic feed, it does make the gaming feel more immersive. However, the “cooling gel ear cups” don’t keep my ears cool very long, 30 mins at the most. The sound is very nice and the build quality is very good. But the problem is which I stated earlier is that the headset does not work properly all of the time, these headsets have lots of audio distortions with some games like Modern Warfare, especially with explosions in the game. Also the haptic feed back is a great experience for a short time but gives me a real headache after about an hour or so of wear and usage. Also this does not always pair successfully with Razer Synapsed so I am not always able to adjust the headphone settings including haptics setting. Like I said, these are a very good gaming headset, but only when it works properly. When these work, I would rate the headsets 4 and a half stars out of 5. When it acts squirrelly, it gets 3 stars out of 5. ... show more
