Let me just start off by saying that as long as your buying directly from Amazon (so sold and shipped by) there should be absolutely no question as to authenticity. I received two of the three pairs I ordered three days ago (two pairs of these, one boyfriend - the third should be coming tomorrow) and they're perfect (the RB etching, model, made in Italy, etc.). After reading various reviews voicing concerns of authenticity, I made sure that under seller I selected the Amazon option for each pair (a few bucks more than some, but still way lower than the RP). I would highly recommend that if you buy through Amazon that you do the same to ensure a hassle-free and worry-free purchase. I've owned a pair of the flat top boyfriends for about a year and a half now and just love them. They've taken quite a beating though, so I thought it was time that they be replaced. I knew I was going to order another pair of the boyfriends, but when I saw how competitive Amazon's pricing was I decided to try these out too. Figured that I'd probably end up sending both back given the smaller measurements and my larger than average face, so wasn't a big deal. Ordered in both the tortoise and black, received the tortoise today. Yes, they're smaller than the boyfriends, but they're still big enough to not look ridiculous on me. They actually look great. I will definitely be keeping the tortoise ones, possibly the black ones too if I like the way they look. Can't believe I've never bought sunglasses through Amazon before. It was a little confusing when reading about the description of these sunglasses. Description says "made in USA" and if you know a thing or two about Ray-Ban, they're Italian made...then I contacted a representative and they told me they come from Seattle (maybe that's what they meant by "made in USA"?), but they could be shipped from China and the probability of them being fake was high or if they're shipped from Seattle, Washington, they'd be the real deal. I don't understand how a company can have their product shipped from two locations - some product genuine and some product not. The reviews on Amazon are totally mixed and random. Many people got fake sunglasses and many people got real ones. I decided to take the risk and worst case scenario, I'd get my money back in the event they were not real Ray-Bans. Mine just arrived today! So my review is very much fresh and new. I own 2 pairs of Ray-Bans (sunglasses and eyeglasses) so I knew to check: 1. The box for the "made Italy" (Milano/Milan) 2. Check the top left lenses for the engraving of the RB logo 3. Make sure the shades don't come in a plastic bag but rather the frames (the part that goes behind the ear) are protected by a plastic cover 4. The case has to be authentic and have the Ray-Ban stamp Mine had all of these details and I am pleased with my purchase of well-priced, lightweight, authentic, Italian made, summer ready, Ray-Bans. With every purchase on Amazon its better to double check with the seller where in fact the item is coming from, ask about the authenticity, and other concerns that may arise.
