Style: GraviTrax Loop
This is an interesting add on, but does not work the way it is shipped. You need the extra long high drop rail from the Tunnel expansion set to make it work. It is hard to build something high enough to get the ball speed up to what is needed to have the ball go all the way around the loop. They supply extra track pieces with this unit, why not have one of the track pieces be the high drop style so the unit works. You can also use the magnetic cannon, but that ties up the cannon and it also needs to be reset after each use. Note also that the ball travels around the loop at a fast pace and it is hard to see. I found the Spiral accessory is visually more pleasing and much easier to use. It is also height adjustable so it fits into the system easier. Please note that I still have three of the loops, I just had to purchase three cannons to make them work. I guess I just have to find ways to make the stuff work. ... show more

I like this loop accessory but it needs a lot of speed for the marble to properly execute the loop. With that speed, things happen quickly so the marble is in and out of the loop almost too quickly to see, and the marble is fairly well hidden as it traverses the loop. I like the loop addition and I’d still buy it but if ranking additions for for visual impact I’d buy other additions first. On the plus side, there’s nothing to reset and once installed it works reliably and consistently. ... show more

    • Gravitrax Flip is mostly FLOP if you have more than 1 curve involved.
Style: GraviTrax Flip
Generally I like the accessories like Scoop, Hammer and Magnetic Cannon but the Flip is a Flop sometimes and isn't reliable enough to be used in some layouts with lots of curves or tight tolerances. Example: So 3 tiles high layouts with Flip, Alright Done. Spent hours designing rest of layout, everything is all densely packed and awesome looking, can't wait to see this all in action. 3 Balls are launched each going down its own path, story follows the Ball that has a Flip stunt... Ball comes rolling down rails, triggers Flip (so far so good, it works most of the time so no complaints yet). Ball is now up 1 level on the plate, it's moving! It's slowing down... it bumps against the Hammer and doesn't even trigger it. FLOP! Barely traveled 5 inches distance and no momentum energy left. Wimpy FLOP. I physically pick up the ball, send it down the little whirlpool hole unto the catcher, it triggers the Flip again and.... maybe it'll have enough momentum to trigger the Hammer this time? FLOP, too weak. -tries again and works on the 3rd try- So the Wimpy FLOP can't send the marble with enough momentum to trigger a Hammer if it's more than 1 curve from FLOP to Hammer... that's right, 2 curves is too much to handle! going past 5 inches is too much distance. ... show more
