I have built a few 3d printer kits and cnc kits. this is a fairly simple build and all the holes in the bakelite pieces are on the money so everything screws together without struggling. the price including the offline controller is hard to beat. If you want a small cnc or if you want an introduction to cnc this one is a good value. I personally like the board and controller. I prefer offline operation and this is about as good as you can get at a really low price. if you want to add limit switches the board easily accommodates this. the board also supports pwm for a laser and the mount is designed to hold a solidstate laser so if that is your goal this is a good cheap choice. I also looked at the power supply after reading the review stating they got a knockoff PS, mine looks authentic and the offline controller worked without issue on my checkout. As i stated eariler I have assembled a 3018 (fox alien) and a 2418, and this one is most like the 2418 but this build was much easier than the 2418. for the price this is a good value. ... show more

    • Limit switches are disabled by default

I installed limit switches and they did not work at first. It is because they were not turned on. Here is how you turn them on by sending these Grbl 1.1 settings. $21=1 (enables the limit switches) $22=1 (enables homing functionality) After this all worked perfectly.

haven't got it to work after several days of trying. I can load the 1 file it comes with but can't get it to run. I've found software from $750 -$2500 a year. I can't bring myself to pay a yearly fee for something I will only use a handful of times. I followed utube videos for over 5 hours only to find it won't export without payment. Don't do it unless you have software figured out. bits are junk. I'd never run anything that looks like these near me. "you'll router your eye out". its 100% 3d printed. ... show more

After I got the machine assembled software installed everything works fine except for the y-axis it's running in reverse, after spending four and a half hours watching several YouTube videos and reading so many articles it's making my head spin absolutely nothing is fixing this. I even downloaded the newest version of candle and still could not fix the problem. Pretty sad when you spend this type of money on a machine and it refuses to work correctly right out of the box. On top of it all I'm disabled after having severely damaged my left arm and my right arm and shoulder. It took me almost 2 hours to put this piece of junk together and then spend over 4 hours trying to get it to work correctly. Another cheap piece of Chinese junk that doesn't work as usual. I'm done wasting my time on this piece of junk I'm sending it back for a refund ... show more
