I've used the yellow handled Arrow brand tack hammers a lot. They just seem to work and if there is a jam, they are easy to get going again. Unfortunately I can't say the same for this brand/style of hammer. I didn't care for the feel/reaction of this hammer. Its kinda hard to explain but I didn't feel like I was getting a solid strike and fully sinking the staples. Also this hammer seemed to jam on me a lot more than others I have used. When jammed it was quite difficult to retract the striking plate to get the staples out. I'm wishing I had gotten another Arrow HT50P. They are solid, they work, easy to un-jam if necessary and are made in the US. ... show more

I did a lot of research and it appeared that this was going to be superior to a less expensive Bostitch/Arrow hammer tacker for stapling roofing felt. I liked that it had a wide foot so I thought it would be less prone to tearing the 15# felt paper. Boy was I wrong! It tears the paper with almost every blow no matter how careful you are...and who can be all that careful nailing house-lengths of roofing felt. It may be OK with the Rapid staples but if you use Arrow T50 staples it will jam the machine and knock it out of alignment. And who but Amazon carries the Rapid staples? Then you have to completely disassemble it, hope to get the weight and hammer mechanism perfectly aligned and then put it back together. It works after a fashion but I would recommend going with the less expensive Arrow/Bostitch roofing tackers whose staples you can get anywhere! Save your money.and buy an American Arrow! ... show more
