We have many tents over the years of outdoor camping, but this is the Greatest and ours favorite tent. It is built very strong and durable. Plenty of walk room and well insulated. I run my air conditioner in the tent and it hold the temperature well. Will consider buying another one, but the company is not listing for sale at the moment. ... show more

    • Well-made and meets expectations
This tent is high-quality workmanship and made of durable construction. We love the zip-in floor, and it really does only take about 90 seconds to assemble. This does not include staking it down, but that did not take long either. We bought the reflective tie down ropes which also have a ratchet assembly for ease of tying the tent down to the stakes. We also purchased the Obsidian Footprint tarp which is very strong and tough as well and fits under the tent perfectly. We can't think of anything we would change about this tent. Compared carefully to my shift pod. Reflection is made up for better ventilation and insulation. Heavier than the shift pod but who cares for car camping. Every other aspect is better, from quality of material to mold resistance, and 200$ cheaper. The obsidian has become my favorite of all time

This tent is incredible! Lightning fast set up! I put a wood stove in it and just love it! I had very poor luck with there customer service but I figured out my questions I had! Wish they made a smaller version! This is a mil spec 4 season tent!

    • Where do I start?! There's so much room for activities!!! 🤔
As the title suggests, this thing is huge, and yes that is a Step Brothers reference. 🤣 From the build quality to the ease of setup this thing really has it all. I purchased all the add-ons and I couldn't be happier that I did. The heat shield in the middle of the summer in the desert is a godsend. The AC helps too, but it gives you some time before you really need it...at least like 10-11am, try to do that with another tent...you won't. And in a blackout and I mean blackout tent no less. Keep a light handy, for real...and as far as rain goes please... both the rainfly and the heatshield got you handled either or depending on your situation. I spoke with the RDS team and they helped me out with a couple of issues I had, in regards to AC vaccum issues and the heatshield. They answered everything I asked in great detail and then some, their customer service team is second to none, so if you have any questions regarding their products, they are more than happy to oblige. The tent footprint you place down beforehand to make sure nothing pokes through is so thick you'd have to be camping on spike strips for it to make a dent, and the bag for that is a legit heavy duty bag as well. In fact the bag for the tent is of a great quality too, with heavy duty handle straps and cinch straps as well, none of that oh I didn't do it right crap. It fits, and with the accessories. Although with those, it is pushing it if you don't cinch it better to be fair, but room just the same. The zippers are great, the base is easy to assemble once you find the red starting point, do it once and you're a pro. The interior clip-on storages are easy to put in and can be moved wherever needed, well except the center of course, cause it's in the center 😆. The16 windows are great to keep you cool along with the top vents whenever needed, along with the no-see-ums mesh, the power port, the AC ports...They seriously really thought of it all. I'm personally grabbing some more straps and the case for them as well once it's available for sure. RDS just makes legit quality gear, period. Seriously, if you're on the fence about buying it. Come on over, it's nice over here, you'll like it, trust me. My only gripe, if you can even really call it that is...I gotta know... What strong man did you get for the youtube video? Was it that Anatoly weightlifter guy who poses as a janitor, just lifting up crazy heavy weights to mop under stuff? 🤣 Because if you can shoulder this bag without leaning you're awesome in my book! It's a marketing thing, so I get it, but man that first time was like, whew 😅, I didn't see that coming hahaha. But seriously, no joke, you guys are awesome. When my friend first showed me this tent, I knew I had to have it. I saved up for it for two years. And when I finally got it I was ecstatic. I have taken this tent to Texas Renaissance camping and Sherwood and it's perfect because once I'm ready for bed I go to complete darkness and sleep. I recently tested the rapid deployment shelter system, including its heat shield, heavy-duty footprint, and ratcheting ropes, in my yard. I'm impressed by the exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Contrary to my expectations, everything was flawless. This tent system checks all the boxes for a camping shelter. I paired it with the Ecoflow Wave 2 A/C and heater system, and the fit was perfect. The insulation and 600D oxford wall material efficiently retain heat in winter and cool air in summer, making a noticeable 10-degree difference within minutes. The spacious interior comfortably fits a queen-sized air mattress and all my gear. It's ideal for my 8-day railroad travels, offering a serene state park retreat over hotel stays.
