Using the AP mode with a good wired data cable. Tried to get to the 192.168.7.234 IP address to set up a password and cannot access unit. YES, I defaulted the unit. Also cannot ping the IP address. The WI-FI worked really good in AP mode but cannot secure it with a password and connect to unit. Tried tech support and no call back. Did not try the repeater part but don't want that. Sorry but have to return unit. Cant PGM the darn thing.

1. It really does boost internet speed I pay for up to 200mbs but now I get above 350mbs constantly and it reaches my driveway so updating apps on my truck stereo is way faster 2. If you just set it up with WPS the extender is not password protected so go through the setup process to manually configure and connect and it will let you setup a password

Not impressed. Does not cover all dead zones as suggest and weakens original router/wifi strength. Still have the same weak wifi connectivity in the basement as i had before purchase. Does not send signal thru walls that well.

Before ordering, I emailed to ask about linear range. The reply said, "This will allow you to have a wifi signal up to 100 meters within your house and up to 300 meters outside," and gave examples. In my garage, my download speed is 1.95-2.8 Mbps when connected to the router 40 meters away. When I was connected to the extender, close beside me, download speed dropped to a high of 0.35-0.38 Mbps! I was expecting 20-50% of the speed near the router, not an even greater cut! It's less than half the distance mentioned for inside. Nowhere near the outside distance. My Apple Airport, which served me well for almost 15 years, had no trouble with that distance. This product did no good at all. A lemon perhaps?
