I had to remove a round-headed bolt that the assembly person of our elliptical machine had dramatically overtightened. I had tried everything from the Allyn wrench that was supposed to loosen the bolt to every other wrench, plier, and tool I could think of, but nothing worked. I had seen a super socket advertised and checked into it. It sounded promising, except that a couple of people who tried to use it on a round-head bolt had failed with it. It had nothing to "grab onto". I used a cutting attachment on my Dremel tool and created some "flat sides" on the now-badly-damaged bolt and ordered the super socket. Using a 3/8 socket handle (instead of attaching it to my power drill), I was able to loosen the bolt and then remove it. My bride was impressed! A bolt must have some 'flat sides' to be able to grab onto the bolt. A round head bolt will have to otherwise be drilled out or some other process to remove it. This was better.

Use this socket tool for a few weekend projects the other day. I used the socket to attach 4 caster wheels on a large Husky tool box as well as some screws on a bed frame. The handle was easier to hold then a screwdriver or socket wrench, and the ratchet capabilities made the work easy to finish.

Bolts need to have flat sides and be high enough off the surface for the tool to grab it. Not sure the durability when heavy torque will be required but it is good tool for the price. Not as useful to drive a bolt in as it is to remove a bolt already secured. Made a good stocking stuffer - even for myself.

Based on limited experience it works best on smaller nuts. Larger nuts need to be carefully centered in device making it difficult to use when visual cues are limited. Works even when not well centered or at slight angle. Durability is an open question at this time.
