The measurements on the gauge are very visible, although the metal bracing does get in the way a bit. I like the height of the gauge. If I wanted to be very picky, I would say that the spikes that go into the ground could be thicker. They can easily be bent.

It might seem like an easy task to put out a rain gauge that works well, but many are too small, too fragile, too short, too hard to read, etc. etc. This one is sturdy, adaptable and works well. You can clearly see the levels. It is very reasonable, too. Recommended!

This rain gauge is not only sturdy but beautiful too. Heavy duty and functional. Several ways to mount it. Can't wait until winter to see if it is freeze proof. It looks like it just might be. Great product.

There's a lot to like about this item, but as my photos demonstrate, it was NOT freeze-proof. The temperature got down to about -14F over winter, and the "freeze-proof" gauge cracked. It no longer held water. We have applied a repair glue that's made for aquariums, and it is holding, so far.
