We had two heavy fishing kayaks at 75 and 100 lbs and a smaller white water at 50ish. I bought three set and threw away their mounting crap. Go get some washers and 3” long 1/4” course thread wood screws or lag bolts. Put those puppy’s into the wall studs. If you use that dry wall kit they send, you have a mess on the floor at best. These are solid as can be if mounted right. I bought three used sets and you could see the failed mounting attempt by the dry wall debris on the back. These hangers are perfect for our Pungo 120 kayak and I’m very pleased. The included screws were very lightweight so I discarded them and bought some stainless steel lag screws. If we get a second kayak, I will purchase another set of these hangers.

This is a very good and well made Kayak rack. I installed it on our dock posts near the shallow end of our dock to make it easy to get the kayaks on and off. The ONLY issue I have with the product are the screws that come with it. They suck. I highly recommend throwing them away and getting some 1/4 Hex Head would bolts 2.5 to 3 inches long. You really don't need stainless since they are not going to be in the water. I got mine at Ace for about 60 cents per screw. You will need 6. ... show more
