    • Used it once and it no longer works

I used this once about 6 months ago. It worked fine then, but when I tried to use it recently, it would no longer tighten in the bottle. I didn't overtighten it originally and as far as I recall, it worked fine the one time I used it. We don't drink champagne very much, so it just sat in the drawer for 6 months. I don't know how it broke. I saw another reviewer say that these things break every 6 months and they just buy new ones every time. That doesn't make sense to me. A champagne stopper should be a simple, durable product. I am attempting to return since it's in Rabbit's one year warranty period, but they are asking for the "3 rows of numbers on the product, which may be on the packaging". It certainly isn't on the product and I'm not going to keep the box from an item like this. They also want pictures of the product. What for? You can't see anything wrong with it. I just doesn't work. In the meantime, I'm going to buy a stopper from another company now that I see so many similar complaints with this product. The fact that it's not currently in stock with Amazon might mean Rabbit has quit making this product. ... show more

I've bought a few of these over the years. Gifted them to Family & Friends as well. They are awesome, WHILE THEY WORK !!! The Fizz in the champagne actually stays for 3-4 days ( sometimes more ) No problem in laying the bottle on its side verses standing it up. BUT !!! they do spoil pretty fast if you twist it too much. You have to get the feel of it to see how far is just right. I dont now, have a problem with that, but I do have a problem with the whole topper getting very sticky. At first i thought it was just me, but My Son & Brother in PA, Sister in London England, Friend in Paris, France, Our vacation home in FL, Daughter & Her friend in NC, ALL have had the same problem. Soooo it has nothing to do with the atmosphere. Having said that, these are way better than the others I've bought & experimented with. Thus I keep buying. I'm making my self feel better by thinking of them as expensive disposable toppers. But at least they last 2-4 years before they go bad. Buying 4 more after I finish with this review. Are they worth buying?? Yes. Are they worth giving as a gift ? Yes. More than it spoiling, I dont like it getting sticky. Maybe I need to keep it in its original case verses a drawer. I've kept bottles of champagne for up to a week in the fridge... so I can have a glass a day. It really keeps the fizz. You get some oxidation, but for a pretty cheap tool that requires no nitrogen it works great. Just insert into the bottle neck and twist until it's tight. To remove, untwist and hear that comforting hiss that tells you it still has plenty of bubbles. No fancy equipment, no bubble destroying vacuum pumps, no hard to attach snap tops. I've bought them for friends who also love them. If you're looking for an easy solution to keep a partial bottle of champagne for a few days, this one is highly recommended. ... show more
