These boots were worn on an Alaskan cruise with several ports of call. Many boots require a break-in period to be comfortable, but these were very comfortable from the first wear. They seem to be made very well and are very rugged while still having a good appearance. A nice touch is the extra shoelaces provided so you can choose the color - if you don't like the red already in place, swap them out with the other set. The only minor complaint is the back upper part of the boot can rub the tendon in the back of your foot a bit, so be sure that the socks you are wearing are high enough to cover. Time will tell how well they hold up, but they still look new even after the trip. Definitely a good purchase. ... show more

I really like the overall look of this hiking boot, the red and black colors are bright and saturated, and it's a nice bold look. The size seems to fit pretty spot on, and there's a fairly good amount of cushioning on the bottom and sides of the boot - enough room inside to still wear some nice thick socks to protect your feet and add some softness for comfort when you walk. It appears to be a rather sturdy shoe as well, nice and rigid enough to work for a hike, but enough flexibility to be able to move without feeling like you're walking on wood. I haven't actually hiked yet in them, but am looking forward to trying them out this fall when camping and such. So far, I'm pleased with the boots. ... show more

They fit as expected, they are water repellent and the insoles are okay, and they are a little stiff but hopefully will soften up a little with some time. They came with an extra set of laces, and are well made, they seem like they will hold up well.

These hiking shoes are fantastic for hiking. I've worn these out for a couple hikes now and they wear really well. They broke in pretty much immediately for my feet. They look good and feel comfortable. They offer a good level of support for my ankle with out completely covering my ankle. They feel heavy duty with good grip to them when I'm hiking. I also like the stylish look these hiking shoes. I love my keens but, these are definitely more stylish than my keens (which did need updating). As a fit these are a smidge more narrow than my keens. They do feel bit tight around the ball of my foot. Other than that they fit tight and comfortable and good for hiking but, they're a little tight around the ball of my foot. Other than that I'm very happy with these hiking shoes. They look good, feel comfortable and work really well for long hikes or walks. Would happily recommend them. ... show more

Wife says, "I haven't broken these in yet, but on our initial 2 mile hike they did well. No blisters or pinching, though they did rub my ankles a little. Probably because I was wearing short socks.
