This paddle is amazingly compact; just terrific for travel. Disassembled, it’ll fit in a day pack or shoulder bag. Our new inflatable paddleboard came with only one paddle, so I ordered the Quynhni Paddle to supplement it since my wife and I typically go out together. We intend to take the paddle along on an upcoming holiday, and this paddle, when broken down, will be no trouble to fit into the same suitcase as the paddleboard. As seen in the pictures, the paddle breaks down into four basic components. The paddles are bolted to their respective telescoping shafts, then the shafts are held together in the middle with a spring clip. The only necessary hardware is included; three bolts with lock nuts. Only two are needed for assembly, one set is a spare. A Phillips head screwdriver is provided, the only tool needed; the lock nuts fit into a molded form so not wrench is necessary to hold them. When disassemble I keep the nuts and bolts in the paddles so they don’t get misplaced. The paddle also comes with what I initially thought was a wrist leash, but the hook and loop adhesive doesn’t fit an adult wrist, it goes around the paddle shaft. There’s a key clip on the other end which I’m guessing is to be attached to a belt loop or something; I haven’t really figured out the seller’s intent here other than it is somehow used to keep the paddle from getting away from the user. As the seller states, the paddle shaft is metal with plastic clamps, and certainly gives the impression of durability. Despite the metal, the entire paddle assembly weighs under 3-1/2 lbs., very respectable for travel and a paddle not for extreme kayaking; for our needs and use, it’s ideal. Given the Quynhni Paddle’s compact design, portability and utility, it seems fairly priced. As such, I have no criticism of it.

Decent double paddle though it is on the heavier side. Construction is simple and straight forward. Size and angle adjustments are very easy to make. The problem for me (and I assume most average sized human beings) is the placement of the blade locks. They were installed exactly where I would naturally place my hands when paddling which means I either have to take a wider or narrower grip then is comfortable which is truly unfortunate.

I don't usually mention unboxing, but this feels remarkable because when I found the box at my front door I did not recognize it for what it was. It came in a box 3.5 in x 17.5 in x 12.5 in, smaller than I was anticipating. That also means it could easily be broken down and carried in a carry-on suitcase! Together with an inflatable kayak this could travel by air at minimal extra expense. What's in the box is two telescoping shaft sections, that are connected at the middle with the usual spring button that most of us are familiar with. The only other connections that have to be made are securing the two blades to the two ends, with one nut and bolt at each. It's super easy and barely warrants having an instruction sheet. The only tool needed is a small Phillips head screwdriver, and that came included, to my further surprise. The telescoping nature of the shaft means that the blades can easily be rotated to any offset desired - there's no limitation to just flat and 45°. And also means they're usable shaft length can be shrunk or elongated to match its user. That is much appreciated for kids, and I think I'll like full extending it to 8 feet if I ever use it with my canoe, too. It seems sturdy. Blades are on the smaller side- I think they'd serve better for touring than whitewater boating. The serrated drip cuts are appreciated and do seem to help. On the downside, it's certainly heavier than my carbon fiber paddle, but I think it will serve well for family trips of short duration where that won't even be a concern.

This is hands down one of the best values for a replacement paddle that I have found. It is not only well made, but it is very adjustable as well. It is light weight but extremely sturdy. It comes with high quality stainless steel fasteners and lock nuts and an included tether. It adjusts from about 6 feet to almost 8 feet and has nice functional hand guards. The color is applied evenly and is attractive. Highest possible recommendation.

This is a great companion paddle for paddleboarding. If I have to travel longer distances or its windy or rough water, I find it better to sit on the paddle board and paddle with a double paddle, vs a traditional single oar type paddle. Sitting makes paddling a double paddle like a kayak and travel at least twice as fast. Yes sitting might defeat some of the reasons for the stand up work out, but if you want to get from point a to point be a kayak style paddle like this is the way to go. Having this break down into a really small size means that you can pack this additional paddle with you on your outings.
