I am a self-described "toilet paper connoisseur", and this was my first purchase of this brand. I have tried nearly every brand and style of toilet paper (soft, ultra soft, ultra strong, ultra soft and strong, quilted, non-quilted, etc.). Many didn't live up to their claims of being "septic safe" and/or they shredded when wet. Until I found Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong -- recommended by Amazon while browsing -- I was a diehard Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper user for at least the past 10 years. My two requirements are that it doesn't shred and is septic safe (I live in the Pacific Northwest, and my house has a septic system). Its appearance of a quilted design seems to make it thicker than other brands, and it is surprisingly soft with no lint or shredding. I didn't notice a scent, but due to its noticeable thickness (and even better than Charmin Ultra Strong in my opinion), I recommend not using too much to prevent a toilet backup or clogging up your septic system if you have one. As long as this product continues to pass my tests, this will be a regular purchase, and I highly recommend it. ... show more

Quilted Northern is one of the softest toilet papers I’ve used. It’s gentle on the skin while still being strong and absorbent. The rolls last a good amount of time, and the quality is consistently excellent. It’s comfortable for everyday use and definitely worth buying again. Highly recommended!

I am very picky about toilet paper, but this Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong completely won me over. It is incredibly soft on the skin without feeling flimsy, and most importantly, it doesn’t leave annoying lint or pieces behind. The quilted texture gives it great absorbency, meaning you actually use fewer sheets per use, making the roll last much longer. The mega rolls are packed tight and fit perfectly on a standard holder. The price is relatively in line with other premium end toilet paper brands. The quality is definitely up there though, the product feels strong while not giving up softness and comfort. The roll fills out the toilet paper roll holder nicely, and rolls out conveniently with ease. Overall I give it a 4/5. There’s definitely a big box club store that has a superior product at a much more appealing price point, but in terms of general product retail options, this one is right up there with the best of them ... show more

I’ve been really happy with this toilet paper so far. In my experience, the paper feels soft and comfortable, while still having enough thickness to feel substantial. I found the texture pleasant to the touch, and the sheets have a good balance between softness and strength for everyday use. I also like the size of the Mega Roll. It fits well on my toilet paper holder and gives me a good amount of paper on each roll, which is convenient for regular household use.
