In the pictures it looks bigger. I was worried about that when I ordered it. But neverthless it's a cute little greenhouse and keeps in the heat well. Then again I live in Florida. It's cheap plastic and thin metal and plastic wrap. The zippers were all screwed up but it's a easy fix. Gonna order another one to put on the other end. It's rectangle shape. Decent height. I use this for my tomatoes. **** edit**** After a minor issue with the zipper the service team contacted me and is resenting me a new cover. Was very courteous and handled it professionally. I was fine with the zipper being kind of broken but they insisted on sending a new one for me. Excellent service.*** ... show more

  • Happy Plants Riding out a Pacific NorthWest Winter
Size: 71" x 36" x 36" Color: Clear
It's not actually waterproof (due to zipper material and placement), and it's not clear how this is "reinforced" but all the plants I've thrown in it are thriving and growing right through the foggy, chilly NorthWest winter. I've only had this greenhouse up on my back-patio for 3 weeks, but thus far I'm very pleased with the quality, especially given the price. The frame definitely has to be weighted down (I used stone tiles), but I suppose that's the natural tradeoff of having a structure that is light-weight and easy to transport & assemble. I also intend to use zip-ties to further secure the plastic shell to the frame before the next wind-storm rolls in, but it has survived moderate wind with just the tie-attachment points it comes with. Overall, I'm pleased with this and may even purchase another since all the plants I've put into it seem to be thriving even more than those I have indoors under grow lamps. Note: My opinion on this products performance may be in stark contrast to someone who lives where it gets snowy and super cold. I live less than a mile from the coast in the Pacific Northwest where it never snows and rarely drops into the low or even mid-30s. The temperature typically fluctuates from 60 to 43F, and I worry about excessive fog more than frost. Pros: Easy Assembly Light/ easy to move Not an eye-sore Happy Plants/ At least warm enough for low 40s (F) Multiple Zipper-openings make it easy to access plants inside Price - I'll feel like I got my money's worth even if it just lasts a year or two Cons: Needs perimeter poles weighted down & doing so creates gaps between plastic and ground where cold air can get in. This is not a big deal for me in a mild climate, but I imagine it might cause critical heat-loss in colder climates. However, If you have a true backyard ( as opposed to just a patio), you could probably stake it to the ground in a manner that wouldn't lead to gaps, or I imagine there are other ways to get creative with anchoring it to other structures that would circumvent such an issue as well. Zipper material and placement makes it not actually Waterproof...Although, I don't feel like this is a big issue since we're talking about somewhere to store plants, not precious artwork. Could use more tie-points to attach plastic shell to frame, and/or internal fabric loops that allow easy reinforcement with zip-ties. Right now the only way to reinforce with zip ties looks like it will necessarily require cutting holes in the plastic, which I worry may result in tearing down the line. ... show more

  • Great product!
Size: 71" x 36" x 36" Color: Clear
I had planned to make myself a cold frame when I saw this. It’s perfect for sprouting seeds in peat pots, and growing into small, plants. I was impressed that each part of the metal frame was labeled, and everything corresponded exactly to the diagram. It took a friend and me about 15 minutes (if that long) to assemble. It’s well thought out, with the two zippered flaps for ventilation and the vertical zipper at one end. I used 25 U-shaped metal things (clips?) made to hold down weed barrier cloth, along the bottom horizontal bars, and stones along the bottom of the clear cover, to guard against wind issues. With a blanket thrown over it (may not have been necessary), it (and the plants inside) easily withstood a late-season windy snowstorm. My only complaints are that (1) In a few small places the green vinyl “binding” had pulled away from the clear vinyl of the cold frame cover, making it necessary to rip out some of the original stitches and re-sew back together by hand since the cold frame was up and in use. And (2) it’s a bit awkward putting the flats of peat pots into the cold frame through the ventilation flaps, so I lifted up the bottom of the clear vinyl (after removing a stone or two lol) and put them in that way. The second issue isn’t a real issue as the mini greenhouse is only 3’ tall at the top and the initial putting of the flats in was bound to be a bit awkward. Someone younger (I’m 71) and more flexible than myself might have no problem at all. Would definitely recommend! ... show more

  • Did its job through the snowstorm, but expect more tears and patches
Size: 71" x 36" x 36" Color: Clear
My various seedlings and transplanted leeks survived a 3-day snowstorm in the mid-20s F and two feet of snow on my balcony in this mini-greenhouse. It apparently created a protective snow cave for them. I placed a bucket of water in the mini-greenhouse with the plants to stabilize the temperature and add humidity. The bucket was still full of water -- no ice -- when I shoveled through the two feet of snow to dig out the greenhouse afterwards. The mini-greenhouse suffered four tears of about 3-4 inches each under the weight of that snow, which I quickly patched with some clear packing tape. ... show more

Size: 71" x 36" x 36" Color: Clear
These little cold-frames are wonderful! My vegetable garden got a healthy head start during the off and on light snow this spring. They are easy to put together and to take apart for storage. When first assembling the mini-greenhouse, I would suggest letting the plastic get nice and warm in a sunny spot. This allows the plastic to better stretch over the frame. In addition, I used a few pieces of duct tape to keep the plastic attached to the frame. In order to keep the greenhouse from blowing up and away during our really strong winds, I also used heavy duty tent pegs on all 4 sides. No problems at all. ... show more
