  • Setup was easy, even with just one person
Color: Black
Update 12/4/2017: We were set to get a hard freeze last night so I loaded my outdoor plants into the greenhouse yesterday. I had seven 20" potted plants to fit inside the greenhouse. Too heavy for me to lift into the gh front doors. I found the easiest way to load the plants was to line them all up first, not inside the greenhouse. I had the greenhouse next to them so I could judge the floor print. Then had another person grab one end and lifted over all them. The gh is very light, so it went over easy. I fit those 7 x 20" pots, 5 x 8" pots and many smaller ones. Original review: Setup was easy, even with just one person. If you've ever setup a popup tent for camping, you already know how easy this is to install. I'm using this to get my tropical plants through the winter. I'm in Zone 8B. Usually I place the 20" pots against a south-facing wall that has an second floor deck above it, concrete ground floor. The plants make it through the winter, but all the foliage dies. I placed this greenhouse in that location. I'll add an update as to how many plants fit in a few weeks. ... show more

  • Good product and great customer service!
Color: Green
Year after year I've lost various plants and precious cacti during winter, and for the last couple of years rather than leaving them outside to die, I would keep them in our small kitchen, pretty much blocking the back door for months. I finally decided to buy this and bought it before winter. For the price I was considering it an experiment. Putting it together was not nearly as fast and easy as advertised. It took two of us to awkwardly put it together in about 15 minutes. So fast forward 3-4 months and Spring is nearly upon us. Almost all of the plants (and all of the weeds as you can see in the pictures!) survived. The young, small cacti that surely would've died on the front porch survived. The palms that always die in a freeze (but eventually come back) stayed alive and well. The basil...well, basil is basil and it died. BUT they lasted past the first two freezes. It was ugly and light green, but it was still alive for a while. A couple other delicate flowering plants gave up the ghost around the same time as the basil. The weeds flourished - lol! All this through a Texas winter, which is alternating between drops into the teens or so, to warm in the 80's. It's pretty windy a LOT. Maybe winds around 30 mph. I got a lot of use out of the zippered windows and "doors" on the nicer days. I was very careful in zipping and unzipping in order to not rip anything because they do seem tight. And then in the beginning of March there was a huge storm with reported 80 mph winds that uprooted and blew the entire thing across the yard. All of the stakes and guide ropes were gone. BUT the greenhouse was still in one piece! Filthy, but not a rip or tear. So hubby and I got it back in place and used a few stakes from our Christmas inflatables to hold it down somewhat. Meanwhile I had contacted customer service in order to purchase new stakes and rope. Instead they sent us new ones free of charge so our temporary stakes were only used a few days. The email responses were extremely quick and helpful. In the next few days we'll take it down for the season and we'll be able to use it again next year with full confidence. I honestly couldn't say if this would be substantial enough in a "real" winter like in Iowa or New York with snow and ice and sustained temps in the teens or lower. I seriously doubt it, unless you had a heat source. But if you live in Texas or anywhere else with fairly mild-to-crazy winters, don't hesitate to buy this! ... show more

  • Great service from manufacturer.
Color: Black
I purchased this tent just a month ago and already the fiberglass pole broke during the heavy winds we got in the past 2 days. It looks like I wont have a functional greenhouse through all the rains and wintry weather. Is it possible to purchase just the fiberglass poles? -- Update: I received a replacement from the manufacturer at no charge. I will now use the earlier tent for parts. Great service! ... show more

  • Useful but not ideal
Color: Green
Pros: (1) Inexpensive. (2) Quick to set up. (3) Very useful for wintering tender plants in a WARM-winter climate, and a good cold frame. (4) The two end vents prevent moisture build-up when the doors are closed. (5) The doors provide access to all areas of the greenhouse. (6) It's quick and easy to set up -- it took us (2 people) about an hour from unpacking to complete set-up. Cons: (1) this is a temporary solution to your gardening needs. The clear plastic separates from the zippers pretty easily if you stress the material to any degree and it's nearly impossible to prevent, meaning some time wasted with duct tape trying to repair the tears so the doors are fully functional. (2) You can't stand in this thing. I found the best thing was to get a little gardening cart (the kind you sit on and scoot around) and use it to cruise between two rows of plants. Otherwise you're forced into a bent-legged stance that gets uncomfortable fast. (3) the green fabric fades after its first summer in the sun. It makes no difference in functionality but does give it a bit of a shabby appearance. This isn't a problem for me but I can see where it could be for others. Like I said, useful but not ideal. ... show more
