I was having difficulty finding good tie off points for my roof rack mounted kayak on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. This product is very flexible in providing tie off points and can be used under the hood, tailgate, trunk, doors, or any other place that latches shut. The flat nylon webbing that extends out of the hood, tailgate, etc., is strong, durable and provides a secure tie off point, "and" is gentle on your vehicle. You can even use multiple ones on the hood, e.g. one on front and one on each side so you can secure the nose of the kayak to prevent side sway during high speed Interstate driving. These were easy to set up and use and the softer rubber handle helps keep from scratching your vehicle, but serves its purpose. I used them to take a 12ft fishing kayak to the lake (only 5 miles) and they worked well. However, if I were to go on a much longer trip, I would not trust the stitching to take the beating of the wind (70 mph down the freeway). I would have liked to see a box stitch or a couple more lines across from side to side. I'm going to put some extra stitches in later, well before I take a long trip. ... show more

It's important to secure the bow and the stern when car-topping kayaks an canoes, yet many modern cars either have difficult to reach tie-down points or none at all. These secure easily under the hood, trunk or hatchback. These are well made sturdy and soft so won’t hurt the finish of your vehicle. Extremely easy to use just place anywhere it can be trapped. The tab is nice and long compared to others, to get out past thick doors gates and hoods. I would buy again if I were to loose them. There have been no signs of weakness or wear since the purchase and have used many many times already. These were an add on item for when I purchased kayak racks and they are great. The strap is excellent quality and heavy duty and the rubber handle is good quality. The design is great and so helpful for attaching the end lines of kayaks, canoe, etc...it allows you to not have to stretch your rope or straps all the way under your bumper and keeps the strap or rope off of and from hitting your vehicle. It stops the potential damage that can occur when a strap or rope continuously hits your car or a ratchet comes lose and dents your car. The rubber part goes inside your engine compartment or trunk and then you shut hood or hatch, trunk. It keeps it in place. The fabric loop on the other end is where you attach your other straps or rope and it keeps it up and off your vehicle. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to better secure their kayaks or canoe and to prevent damage to their vehicle ... show more
