I purchased size 34, which is my normal waist, these are tight in the crotch and in the behind. They are very lightweight and should make for good hiking shorts. I was hoping to order them in a size larger, but it wasn't available in the gray color. If you study all the pictures of colors for these shorts, the gray actually don't have the name brand etched into the pocket unlike all the others. I'll have to move on to something else! ... show more

I like the 2 black pairs I have owned but when I recently ordered a green pair; they came with an unwashable & awful smell. I wonder if it is the dye, it is sort of a mildly rancid chemical odor. Just FYI.

    • Is the fabric the same in the 36 size as it is in the 38 size?

I bought the size 36 (medium) and 38 size. The 36 fit me better, but I found the fabric on the 36 size to be much thinner and not look feel like the same quality as the 38 size are made from!
