I've tried probably 20 different protein bar brands over the years and most of them taste like sweetened chalk or have this weird artificial aftertaste. I keep buying them because I need quick protein when I'm at the gym or between meetings, but I was never excited about eating them. These Quest Apple Pie bars are the first ones where I actually look forward to eating them instead of just tolerating them. The flavor is legit. It actually tastes like apple pie - you get the cinnamon, the apple chunks, that bakery taste. Not a chemical approximation of apple pie, but something that tastes like real food. The texture is chewy without being dense or hard to eat. Some protein bars are so dense they're exhausting to chew, but these have a good consistency. I keep a box of these in my desk drawer at work for afternoon snacks. Around 3pm when I'm starting to crash and would normally hit the vending machine for candy or chips, I grab one of these instead. The 20g of protein keeps me full until dinner and I don't get that sugar crash you get from regular snacks. My energy stays consistent instead of spiking and crashing. I also keep a few in my gym bag permanently. After a workout I need protein and these are way more convenient than mixing a shake. Just unwrap and eat while I'm driving home. The macros are great for post-workout - 20g protein, only 4g net carbs, 2g sugar. Perfect for keeping my diet on track while still getting the protein I need. The apple chunks in these are real and noticeable. You can actually see pieces of apple and taste them. Not just apple flavoring mixed into protein paste, but actual fruit. Makes them feel more like real food and less like a processed protein supplement. I've tried other Quest bar flavors and they're all good, but Apple Pie is my favorite. I've got Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookies & Cream at home too, but I go through Apple Pie the fastest. The cinnamon spice flavor is perfect for fall but honestly I eat them year-round. These work great for travel too. I always pack a few in my carry-on when I fly. Way better than airport food and they don't need refrigeration. Also good for road trips when you don't want to stop for fast food but need something substantial to eat. The size is perfect. Not so small that you're still hungry after eating it, but not so huge that it's a meal replacement. It's a proper snack that tides you over for a few hours. I usually eat one around 3-4pm and I'm good until dinner at 7. My girlfriend was skeptical about protein bars but I convinced her to try one of these. She was surprised at how good it tasted and now she keeps some in her purse for when she's running errands and gets hungry. She's not into fitness or protein tracking, she just likes them because they taste good and keep her from getting hangry. They're keto-friendly which is nice even though I'm not strictly keto. The low net carbs mean I don't have to worry about them messing with my macros or causing blood sugar spikes. I track my food and these fit perfectly into my daily targets without requiring any adjustments. The wrapper is easy to open even with one hand which sounds minor but it's convenient when you're driving or holding something. Some protein bars have packaging that requires two hands and concentration to open. These just tear open easily. I've recommended these to like 5 people at my gym. Everyone who's tried them has said the same thing - they're shocked that a protein bar actually tastes this good. My workout buddy switched from his usual brand to these after I gave him one to try. The price per bar is reasonable especially when you buy a box. Works out to like $2-3 per bar depending on sales, which is way cheaper than buying food out or getting vending machine snacks. Plus you're getting actual nutrition instead of empty calories. They don't melt or get weird in hot temperatures which is clutch for keeping them in my car or gym bag. I've left them in my car during summer and they're fine. Some protein bars turn into chocolate soup in the heat but these hold up. The ingredients list is relatively clean compared to other protein bars. I can actually pronounce most of the ingredients and there's no high fructose corn syrup or weird chemicals. Still processed obviously but better than a lot of alternatives. Quest bars have become a staple in my diet. I go through a box every couple weeks between work snacks, post-workout fuel, and travel food. The Apple Pie flavor is consistently good - never had a bad or stale bar, they're always fresh and tasty. If you're looking for protein bars that don't taste like punishment, try these. Apple Pie is the best flavor but honestly all the Quest flavors are solid. These have ruined other protein bars for me because now I know how good they can actually taste.

Quest is one of my favorite protein bars with excellent amount of protein, gluten-free, lots of great flavors that are REALLY DELICIOUS! They have been a staple of mine for 7 years now and no plan of changing.

Tastes really good. They are a little sticky but otherwise, I highly recommend! Good size and makes a nice snack that fills you up with a pretty decent nutrition label. Good alternative if you have a craving for something sweet.

Has a lot going for it: texture, taste, protein and caloric wise, but the taste is too artificial. More like imitation green apple, little to no apple pie spices flavor. Somewhat disappointed, but kept them as I was out of my other brand. Might try other flavors that are more standard.

I love Quest products for the most part and was hopeful these would be a new addition to my protein line-up. I wish I'd have been able to buy a single bar at the local grocery store but they weren't available, so I took a chance. The flavor is nice however I just couldn't get past the grit. I may end up grinding them up for a smoothie, where it might not be as noticeable. So far the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest Bars are the undisputed champ.

It’s the kind of flavor that makes you whisper “thank you” with a full mouth. The texture game here is as good as it gets in a protein bar. Most protein bars are either sad rubber bricks or chalky disasters, but Quest nails that sweet spot: chewy enough to feel substantial, with just the right crunch to keep things interesting.
