This squirrel baffle, if properly installed, works. But you must follow the recommendations for installation. Install it five feet off the ground on the pole. Make sure the birdfeeders don't hang below the baffle. Ensure your feeder poles are at least six or seven feet away from any fence or tree or bush that a squirrel can climb and jump from. I haven't seen any squirrels on my feeders since I installed these baffles.

I saw the reviews about assembly and being larger than a 4x4. Frankly I’d rather it be a bit larger. Installation is simple if you take your time and screw in each screw a bit at a time to keep it even. I wish the screws/bolts were black. But definitely does the job for squirrels. Happy with purchase.

Credit where it's due. The Gray Squirrels in my neighborhood cannot get past this. Raccoons laughed as they climbed right over it. Deducted a few stars because the fit around a 4x4 is too loose. When screwing it down to the post it bends the panels and doesn't look all that great.

The squirrels were having their way (taking all the bird seed) from a feeder on a square post. It is hard to find a shield design for a square post. This works perfectly, but it is not cheap... Good to buy - once.
