The word protector is used in the item description, but this isn't waterproof, so I wouldn't consider it a protector as it would allow liquids to pass through to the mattress. I was hoping it was a protector, as that was the main reason I got it. It is quite cozy, and has helped me sleep better. I'm not waking up as achy as I was before I got this. At first I thought it was going to be too hot. I have a Purple brand mattress which does a great job of keeping me cool when I sleep, so when the topper felt much warmer, I was worried that I'd be waking up in a sweat, but it breathes well enough that I haven't sweat any at all. That's a big win. It's not nearly as puffed up as it appears in the stock photos. The pictures from other reviews show what it actually looks like. I was a little concerned that I might feel the difference between the puffed up parts and the flat stitching part between the squares (because the pictures make it look like you'll be laying on a giant piece of bubble wrap) but it's not really noticeable, and the little squares prevent the filler from shifting and ending up all in one corner. The topper has nice deep pockets, that had no trouble fitting over my extra tall mattress. I have an adjustable base as well, and the topper doesn't slip off when I adjust the bed to seated or other (even extreme) positions. I'm very happy with this topper, and while I plan to continue to search for a new mattress protector, I'll be adding it to this topper, rather than replacing it because I don't want to give it up! Full disclosure: God and Amazon have smiled on me and given me this product for free. While I am very grateful for it, I do not let free stuff sway my reviews, which are my honest opinions, painstakingly formulated into multiple run-on sentences, as if I'm getting paid by the comma.

it’s me again doing another review for my s.o. trucker if you have seen reviews of mine before I try to help him get stuff for his truck because if anyone knows truckers basically live on their truck if they’re over the road. So trucking beds are necessarily comfortable, even if you can get a newer mattress, cause the truck‘s always on it shakes. I mean they’re just not the most comfortable things to sleep on. so anything I can do to at least make him a little more comfortable to sleep I will. I saw this mattress topper and I had him take a look at it. See if it would fit his trucking bad because trucking beds tend to be twin xl and it’s hard to find to xl items so when this popped up, I thought I would give it a chance. Twin XL Size Mattress Topper for Back Pain, Thick Mattress Pad Cover, White Protector Cover for College Dorm Room Essentials(Twin XL Size, White) is pretty thick. It’s got a fat quilt on it and is pretty fluffy. So far he has no complaints. It says it helps him. It’s not a gel pad. It’s just poly filled so who knows how long that’s going to actually stay fluffed up, but it does fit his bed in the truck very well.

I'm tall and require a longer bed. But often, twin-XL options can be limited. For instance, NYT's Wirecutter raves about L.L. Bean percale sheets, but LLB annoyingly doesn't make them in T-XL. So this T-XL mattress cover looked very inviting in the ad photos as a possible replacement for my much-older and worn topper. The first thing you notice is when it is installed on the bed, it does not have the pronounced Michelin-Man bumps depicted in the pics. It is definitely thick, however. The topper itself is just gorgeous with beautiful materials and robust stitching, so when it's laid on, it just looks great. After sleeping on it for a couple of nights, it is far more comfortable than my older topper, but that was pretty obvious from the get-go. So, I'm happy with it so far, but just have one nit: What is the deal on drying this after washing? The ad text states you have to lay it out to dry after washing it? That's going to be a little challenging in getting the insides to dry completely and evenly, and even being able to determine when it is 100% dry? So I guess I'll be just air-tumbling it or ultra-low heat? Some more precise direction from the manufacturer would be appreciated. Withthat caveat in mind, I do recommend this.
