I bought this because I needed a new mattress protector and wanted my bed to be a bit softer. I really like the fact that it has different zones. I'm not sure that there's any difference in comfort but it definitely makes it easier to put it on the bed correctly the first time. This protector is both huge and snug due to the elastic. I have 2 mattress toppers on my bed. On the bottom is a 10" thick memory foam mattress. On top of that, I have a firm 3" memory foam topper. These two have a combined case that I can put them in so they don't move around. Then, I have another softer memory topper (the firm one is too firm) on that, which adds another 3". It doesn't have a cover that it goes in, or even straps to keep it down. I've put this mattress protector around all 16" of my queen size bed. It holds tightly enough to keep that second topper in place. As far as extra cushioning, I'd say it adds the equivalent of 1 or 2 comforters. That's not a ton of extra squish, but it's definitely some and about what I was hoping for.

Got it today and was impressed it came on time. It was well packaged and vacuum sealed inside the box. Fluffed up as soon as I cut into the bag. Good thick fabric and fit my king size bed as I had hoped. It is supposed to be waterproof which has yet to be determined. I have an older dog that sleeps at the bottom of the bed and don’t want to take any chances with my mattress. Hopefully when/if the time comes to prove itself it will prove itself worthy and waterproof. Great deal for the price. Cost half of the one I bought originally with the bed.
