Let me start this review by saying that I realize that mattress comfortability highly subjective. Firm, soft, too springy, not thick enough and everything in between differs greatly person to person. With that said this is my experience with this mattress after 6 months. I read all the reviews at the time and more or less ignore the ones about being a guest, travel trailer, or kid’s bed as those are limited use and or writing a 3rd hand review for kids who can sleep fine upside down on rocks. As you are likely seeing now the rest of the reviews were pretty good so I got the Twin XL for my side of or split king adjustable bed. I have been going through mattresses trying to figure out what exactly is comfortable for me, and which will last more than a few months if I find one that doesn’t cause any pain. This may be getting older but over the long years I used to sleep excellent on a waterbed, then moved to a medium spring box spring or not. I would only ever get new mattresses when they really wore out after a few years. I then tried a fully memory foam which is where my problems seemed to start which I tried to tackle my getting many different foam firmness levels with not much luck. Either seemingly too hard or too soft, all causing some sort of pain regardless of side, back or stomach sleeping. I did find a described medium that worked well initially but after a couple months (with turning the mattress) it too started to sag and right back to painful wakeups. Looking for more alternatives I read about these types hybrid mattresses where the springs keep support and don’t sag like all foam, but with the soft foam comfort layer to get that foamlike feel and block the spring pressure and feel. Enter this hybrid mattress. Again, the reviews were good, but I am not sure how long after they got it the made their reviews nor how large or small they are but looking now I a now 6 months in, and am 6’ 230. I did let this fully inflate over before sleeping on this though upon sleeping on it I thought it was a bit firm. There did not seem to be a whole bunch of memory foam. After a few weeks that did soften up a bit and stayed ok for while which made it a little more comfortable. While still firm for my personal tastes, I would say the foam part stayed more comfortable for 3-6 weeks. This is the time I started to feel the springs themselves and the middle started to show signs of sagging. I turned the bed, foot to head, which might have helped for a bit but the same thing happened. I started to start sleeping on the edges to hopefully even out the sagging but would end up rolled back to the middle sag again. I would describe this feeling as sleeping on a large outdoor trampoline for those of you who might have done that as kids. No matter where you start sleeping you always end up in the saggy middle and waking up sore. One my back my rib area hurts. On my side my hip and neck hurt and my arms go to sleep, and on my stomach my lower back and neck hurt. Back to the subjectivity of mattresses, I am giving this 3 stars as the initial firmness and the memory foam might be great for some. If you are a smaller person the deterioration might take much longer or not happen at all. I just feel, even at my size that a mattress should wear in a bit but stay at about the same level, without deterioration if turned etc. for at least a year before going downhill. This is a very comfortable mattress, that gives a very good sleep. It has two "questionables" that I find easy to overcome. The springs are feelable. Lying down, I don't feel the springs, but sitting up in the middle of the bed I do feel them. Since I don't sit up in the middle of the bed very often, I don't consider this a drawback. The springs also create a very bouncy bed. Sitting on the edge of the bed feels both very bouncy and as if the side of the mattress will break down quickly. So when I need to sit on the bed, I sit well back so that my knees are on the edge, and it won't bounce me off. The bottom line is that I sleep very well on this mattress. My husband is 50 years old and lives in a hospital bed due to muscular dystrophy and several other terminal illnesses. He has been in and out of hospitals for years and had recently given up all hope for any quality of life or positive experiences. He assumed it was all he'll, all down hill. Although thankful for social services, medicaid and medicate, these services leave any hope of true comfort or luxury to be desired. The sqeeky, old, metal, adjustable bed furnished by insurance was too hard and the springs made any comfort or position impossible. He never slept through the night, never felt good and was in worse pain than ever before. And just when it was clear he wasn't going to ever stand or walk again, in came the mattress, if that's what you call it. A jailhouse replica in blue plastic was a 4inch foam pad. This pathetic excuse for comfort was to be the place where my husband, who cannot heal, was to lie in wait and waste away. I couldn't stand this fate. I live my bed. It's awesome! He bought it for me several years back when he was beginning to see the effects of his disability. It's amazingly comfortable, with cotton sheets, expensive blankets and down pillows. I decided that if I ever earned a penny being his caregiver, my first purchase would be to find hom a new bed or mattress. I did some research about foam, latex, etc and found this twin xl by coolie. For under $200, I bought him a real gift, a miracle!. He loves it! It fits and adjusts.like it should in thr bedframe. And it's firm so he can adjust or turnover but soft and forgiving to help his bones relax and be supported. Whatever you do for the rest of your time on earth, do not let someone, anyone, waste away on the crummy little pad that arrives with the frame. For not much at all, change their life like we changed his. Life is hard enough, there is no reason to suffer from something so easily remedied. Give good care! - and be amazed what a little sleep and comfort can do. ... show more

I have scoliosis, so finding a mattress that works for my back is very important to me. Wow was I blown away by the quality of this mattress! I like that it is a hybrid spring mattress. I personally like a mattress that is more on the firmer side, less on the soft side, so that my back gets the support that it needs. This mattress met all of my needs and expectations! I would highly recommend if you are looking for your next mattress. It also doesn't smell, like a lot of memory foam mattresses from Amazon do. 10/10! ... show more
