I waited a while to write this review to see how it seemed the mattress was going to hold up. And now, I really can't recommend it highly enough, especially for the price. I have hypermobile joints and have suffered from lower back and hip pain for a decade or more. After the first night I slept on this bed, I woke the next morning and stood up pain free for the first time since I can remember. I didn't even think that was a possibility in my life anymore. The mattress is very firm, so that's sth to be aware of if that's not what you're looking for. Definitely a bed you sleep on more than in. If you're a side sleeper, you might want a thin topper to reduce pressure on hips and shoulders but I definitely wouldn't discount this mattress if you are. Also, if motion transfer is a concern, this might not be the best option as the memory foam isn't thick enough to isolate movement, but the springs are strong enough that you're not going to be sucked into a divot made by your partner either. It is very heavy compared to other boxed mattresses I've unpacked in the past. It recommends two people to unpack it. I didn't have anyone to help and managed but it was a struggle and I'm used to moving heavy objects at work, so maybe plan for that if you have mobility or strength issues. Also, due to the weight, I'd be wary of moving it too much by the handles. I heard a few stitches pop when I tried and decided against it but it's not hard to grab the mattress itself and the cover feels durable while also being pleasantly soft. There was very little smell during the expansion period, and not "chemically" either, unlike the memory foam mattresses I've unboxed in the past. I did wait the whole three days before sleeping on it, and I think that's the right call, even though it was almost fully expanded within a few hours, not because of any smell, but only to allow the materials to set and hourly prolong product life. Honestly I'll never go back to a troat memory foam mattress after sleeping on this. Even if it only lasts a few years, it will be worth the money, and so far it is holding up beautifully and I don't foresee any issues ... show more

    • Amazing mattress, just right firmness.
I purchased a bed in a box years ago when they first were on the market, and it was hard as a brick bat! This mattress is an amazing deal. I waited to review it after using it for several days. Let me say, this is as good as my Sterns and Foster hybrid mattress. It came quickly by FedEx, within 3 days. Opening it was accurate. When people said it pops open, boy did it ever! Literally, it was like hitting a biscuit tube that blows apart with that quick popping. I had kept my knee, and weight on it, and it still pushed me off. So beware, and have it exactly where you want so it doesn't break anything. It expanded in seconds. I did follow the 72 hour wait time, and even added an extra 24 hours, because I could see the top layer still expanding on one side, which was the innermost rolled end, and the opposite side was bulging higher. One thing I love is that it is very firm. It has a soft top layer that gives a just right "plushness" to it. When you sit on the edge of the bed, like to put your shoes on, it holds up and doesn't squish to the bedrail, and I weigh 250 lbs, so that says a heck of a lot. I decided on this hybrid instead of memory foam due to the hybrids having a spring bounce. This has just enough spring to it that I love. I put mine on a daybed, and the 10" fit perfectly. I use it instead of a sofa due to health issues, and needing to sit and lay on my side too. It does have support zones that you can slightly feel the difference in support, but nothing major. Also, I stay quite hot when I sleep, and this one does feel cool. I fell asleep yesterday and woke up hunting a quilt, in a house with the a/c in the 70's. Very firm! This is exactly the type of mattress we were looking for. We both have back issues and a soft mattress doesn't give us the support we need. We both sleep on our sides as well as our backs and this mattress is perfect for us. We let it sit for 36 hrs, measured according to manufacturer's instructions (12"), and then slept on it. The mattress is very comfortable and supportive. We don't feel any springs poking through. The mattress material is soft to the touch. There was barely a smell once we unpackaged the mattress. It definitely takes 2 people to move the mattress into place. It weighed close to 90lbs. Also be careful when unwrapping. My husband knicked the encasement of the mattress and it exploded out causing him to be thrown back a bit even though he was standing to the side of the mattress. Overall, the mattress was easy to put on the bed rolled up. It lined up perfectly to our existing queen box springs. It's definitely a great value for the product we have. We will buy again when we need to replace our kids mattresses. We paid more for our old mattress that lasted 5 years. ... show more

    • Great mattress, especially for price
As someone who likes mattresses to be at least an 8 out of 10 on the hardness scale, this works great. I got the 10 inch because I had experiences with "hard" mattresses not really being hard, but I might even get the 12 inch if I could go back... But still, the 10 inch has decent cushioning and bounciness, I'm still amazed that a shippable mattress had proper springs! No smell, and it expanded pretty quickly in less than a day.
