Went from popsocket to this. Although a bit more expensive, and depending on the need, it works much better for what I need. I have a full mount on my motorcycle and this little sticky mount on my truck. I like that you can position the phone in and then rotate to keep horizontal or vertical.

Stuck these bad boys on the side of the dashboard as a cheap car mount fix. They’ve stayed on great so far this summer and I’m parked outside everyday in 100+ temps. Very strong adhesive and no complaints.

I was pleased to discover that these non-locking mounts do actually have a pretty good friction fit, with what feels like a detent (it isn't really) keeping the device aligned on the mount until experiencing a bump or impact that rotates the device relative to the mount. I would really prefer to buy a separate mount like this, but with the blue locking tab that is part of the bike mounts or armband mount. One star off for that and the price which is still too high, years after introduction ... show more

    • UPDATE: Case defect issue, resolved via warranty replacement.
UPDATE: Turns out the back of my phone case was cracked and was very quickly and effortlessly replaced through the warranty program. The new case came in, I installed the phone, then tried this piece ... and it worked! As a company, Quad Lock gets a 10 out of 10 for product support and warranty claims! Original: Barely holds onto phone. Sure, it fits, but otherwise useless, as it doesn't grip the phone with any real tension. I expected it to 'lock' in with a little tension like a Garmin mount does. Not the case! Both just fall right off. Utterly useless! ... show more

I ended up buying this for my husband for Christmas. He was looking for a system that would be sturdy and stay put in his excavator and skid steer while operating in rough terrain.     • Minor issue with device security
I have a number of Quad Lock components and I mainly use them for camera situations. I was in need of this item to connect to another Quad Lock mount security but found that the connection was not as tight as other mounting components I purchased. This item has some slight twisting to it when connected to my iphone quad lock case and other universal mounts. I have other quad lock mounts that are extremely tight, but this purchase not so much. I don't think this item in particular with disconnect from the iphone or other mounts, but there is a definite looseness that was unexpected. Mounted this in my Tahoe PPV and it really sticks solidly. If you have the quad lock case, you know how well it works. This doesn't have the lock but does a great job holding the phone.
