I bought my entire family skates for Christmas. I gought this pair for me, but I didn't expect to like them. I was concerned that the leather would be too stiff, that the toes are was too narrow. I spent a lot more on my wife and sons skates and expected to be disappointed in mine, only because they looked stiff and were was less expensive. Well, I'm a believer! These skates are great. Really great! They are stiff, but that's a good thing because it gives you tremendous support, and they are soft enough for outside. Wish I had these skates when I was a kid. I'm 6'2 and 210 pounds and handles me perfectly. Only upgrade I may make would be the bearings, but they are fine. These skates are every bit as good as the ones I bought for my wife and son at twice the price. So from a value perspective - don't underestimate them because they are less expensive. This is a decent mid-range skate and it fit perfectly went I ordered two sizes down. They will need breaking in because the boot is stiff. But after wearing around the house a bit they started to soften because they’re leather lined. They’ll go well with my overall skate look. The only negative is that the wrench included is useless. I tried to use to change the toe stop on the skates and it bent and was no longer useable. So they should save some money by not including the wrench and pass those savings on to their customer by lowering the cost of the skate accordingly. ... show more

I look at these reviews and most of the people are not professional skaters. These are very good skates I must say. I have a $400 pair of OG Riedell skates. I got the Chicago skates to try something different. I skated about 3 hours straight. They were absolutely great! All I would recommend is to change wheels and bearings. Always remember, it's not the skates, it's the skater. They are light and fast with the right wheels and bearings. One skate session and I'm loving them. I'm a professional skater. They were light and pretty comfortable for how cheap they are they ride good just losses up the trucks and wheels and take off the toe stop don't beat on them because they can only take so much since they are cheaply made but will be great to learn how to jam skate and dance skate

I ordered a men’s 8 (I wear women’s 9)- too big so I added an arch support insole that wouldn’t fit any of my regular shoes… they fit & are comfortable. I cut the insoles to fit the skates. I loosened the wheels & trucks for a smoother faster roll & smoother maneuvering. I may use the black ones for outdoors & white ones for roller rink/indoors. ... show more

I don't like to leave bad reviews but this time ai have no choice. I bought this as a second pair so I would no longer have to rent skates. my son and I went to a roller rink to use them for the first time straight out of the box and that is when trouble hit. Both skates pulled hard....left skate to left side and right skate to right side. We aren't professionals but thankfully there was a skilled worker on-site and even he couldn't get it to quit pulling. he said and I quote "I've never seen anything like this". He tried and tried with no luck. So we wasted 20 dollars for entry cover charge and couldn't skate. I guess these are going in the trash. ... show more
