Water- based formula combines traditional pigments, pearlescent pigments and real metal particles to create an array of captivating, non-tarnishing, shimmering colors. Metallic Paint Collection LEED EQ Credit 4.2-Low-emitting non-flat Paints Unique, Non-Tarnishing Colors Real metal particles, pearlescent pigments and traditional color pigments are uniquely combined to create a palette of beautiful, non-tarnishing, shimmering colors. Colors in the Metallic Paint Collection contain three levels of coverage/hide: Opaque, Semi- Opaque and Sheer. Opaque colors have excellent hide, two coats are recommended for best results. I used the sapphire version for an accent wall in my mostly white TV room

I used the sapphire version for an accent wall in my mostly white TV room. It looks wonderful, but I did use 5 coats as it was difficult to get the brush/roller lines from showing. There may be a better way to apply than I tried, but initially I used 4" foam roller for the first 3 coats, then switched to a 6" regular roller with 1/2 nap for the final 2 coats. In the daytime, the sapphire appears darker, almost metallic navy. During the evening, it appears lighter and the metallic really shows.
