I am not a fan of chain link fence, but around my house I have plenty of outdoor projects and good wire ties are hard to come by. I am constantly fighting the weather and wildlife to keep up a 3-acre deer fence. Zip ties are not my first choice for patch connections unless they’re stainless steel which, let’s face it, gets expensive quick. I usually use hog rings, but I got these as an alternate because hog rings can be tedious to put on. I wasn’t sure what to expect and honestly, they do work, but they’re quite a bit less rigid than I expected. After putting in a half dozen repairs, I’ll probably stick with hog rings for most repairs and use these when I need something longer that can patch bigger gaps. They work okay, and they’re good to have on hand, but they ended up taking as much time as hog rings. They are good for low stress scenario’s – I saw other reviewers comment on their utility as ground anchors for yard lights. I think they’d serve that purpose very well as they are easy to put in and remove, but they are not durable so I wouldn’t use them for anything other than seasonal applications. ... show more

    • Great for gardening prodjects
If you have a garden and put down the black cloth to prevent weeds then this is a must have. Or even if your landscaping. They will bend a bit when putting them in the ground so just be careful.

These aluminum wire ties are supposed to be for repairing chain-link fence, but this particular set that I got is a bit flimsy. I guess depending what you’re going to use them for or what your requirements are these may or may not work for you. My chain-link fence has several holes in it so these will be able to patch those gaps but it’ll still be the weak points if someone wants to break them. These are obviously not that strong as the original chain-link fence but if you want to close a hole to keep animals or anything from entering through a hole in the fence then they should work. These are also good to support a sagging fence to the top horizontal metal post. I wish these were thicker and stronger like the original fence but being that it’s aluminum, it will not be. These can easily be bent with your hands, but to secure by wire wrapping you will need a good set of pliers. Overall, these are good just remember to consider your requirements. ... show more

From the pictures, I am not using them for chain link fences, but instead, I am using them to hold in place Chrismas lighting. The wire ties are very flexible and can be wrapped around poles to secure lights. Also, you can cut them down to size using diagonal cutters. Another thing to note is the wire ties are aluminum so they will not rust if left in the ground or out in the open. Overall great product. ... show more

    • Flexible but effective.
These will do the intended job but they are really light weight and a little too easy to bend. As far as holding a fence to a post goes I would cut down my spacing to make sure the load of anyone hitting, kicking, climbing the fence doesn't cause them to come undone. I have found these work great as short lengths of mechanics wire! I've hung up a few thinks to spray paint, used one to fish a wire though the firewall of a car... While not the intended purpose these work great for other tasks. ... show more

    • Many uses for this simple product!
While designed for use in fences, I found it very useful in gardening and irrigation, where you need to tie down a vine or hold in place a drip emitter. The aluminum is easy to bend and won't rust.
