So far so good two months in with this product. I live in a rural area with many predators that will take out chickens. I used this to line my chicken coop, two lines at the bottom paired with a neutral and hot line around the top. Zapped myself a couple of times with it and it’s definitely not pleasant lol. Our outdoor cat bit the polyline and hasn’t been near the coop since. I’m sure it’s doing a great job deterring raccoons and foxes, no sign of damage or forced entry to the chicken run or coop. Bought one and soon after bought another one. Great quality and it is literally a "goes anywhere" fence charger. Just needs sunshine and a post to put it on. Will not ever buy any other type of fence charger.

My wife worked really hard on a raised garden that looked great....only to have it destroyed by racoons over just a few nights. I added this S12 and 3 rows of wire. No more racoon problem....or deer. This is super convenient, easy to use and very effective. Only issue I have is you can't tell the battery level from the panel...25%, 50%, 100%...who knows? Also, it would be great if it had an alternate USB charging option to top it off occasionally. I have not had a problem with it failing to work with just the sun but it would be nice to know if it was getting low on charge and have an option for extended cloudy days. Very easy to install like others have said. Installed on a two row wire garden spot 60’x120’ to deter deer. Let it charge for several days as per the instructions. Turned it on and gave it a little finger test. Wasn’t impressed so dig out the old tester and said it was putting out 3000 volts. Called the company and the very nice lady said it was probably my shoes keeping me from grounding. She said “I’m not telling you to do this but if you were to take off your shoes you would probably get a better result, but I’m not telling you to do that.” Well I did and I did, lol. So far no deer tracks but we’ll see after the crop comes up. ... show more

This charger was working fine, then suddenly wouldn't turn on anymore 3 months in. I have another of the same charger that I bought just a month prior and it still works, not sure what happened to this one but very not cool.
