Okay I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I bought this for myself and I'm over 50 but still young at heart. I use this to tease our black lab and cockapoo. Our lab is older and just looks at it and slowly gets out of the way. The cockapoo however, runs for her life and seeks high ground! Don't worry, she jumps right back down and starts chasing it, then looks for Mount Everest again once it turns back towards her. LOL As for the product itself, its pretty awesome. It comes with two rechargeable batteries but requires only one to operate. The battery life is great and means plenty of enjoyment X 2! As others have mentioned, the spinning feature is unique and cool and really throws off the dogs as to which way its heading next. Kinda like spin the bottle. I have not tried running through water yet but seeing how fast and powerful it is, I'm thinking that running it in water will not be a problem. I'll do a bath tub test first before running it into our pond and losing it forever. I will update my review with my test once conducted. My daughter was invited to her first birthday party but unfortunately we had forgotten about it and weren't able to get the kid a gift in time. We didn't go empty handed but we definitely wanted to make up for it. I ordered this car specifically for this purpose. The kid is your typical country boy who loves playing outdoors, so I figured this would be perfect as it would definitely get used. I especially loved the fact that is was waterproof so it can literally be played with all year long with no worries. The little boy was so happy to get it and immediately tried it out. Mom says there isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't play with it for a bit. It is definitely holding up to quite a bit of dirt, mud, and water. This is a fun car to play with. Smooth controls, very fast. The 360 turning is a neat trick. The batteries were a little fussy to put in but it runs great! Didn't have any issues playing with it in the rain. Haven't tried making it swim but will do that when the weather warms up. Good battery life too! ... show more

It's become an unofficial tradition in my home to get an RC toy for Christmas. We try to keep things interesting by mixing up the type to avoid escalation ("Last year's car went 20 MPH, how fast does this one go?"). We haven't tried something amphibious before, so figured this was worth a shot. It comes with one battery in the bay and another in the box. Both have some charge, but should be fully charged before use. The controller is made of a lighter plastic and feels like it is more likely to fail than the car itself. It's fairly easy to control. The power buttons and battery compartment underneath are sealed, which is necessary for something that will drive through puddles, ponds, and pools. It's a spunky little car that's plenty of fun to drive. It's rugged and the 4WD gives it good power, though it does flip pretty easily.     • Super Fun Remote Control Vehicle - Actually Runs in Water

I had to see this RC vehicle traverse water, so I found a deep puddle next to my driveway and gave it a shot. The truck actually motored through six inches of water. The wheels churned the water as the truck swan through the puddle. It actually moved pretty good until is hit terra firma. As is the case with most of these RC vehicles, the battery life is not great. You do get two batteries (fully charge before use), but you only get about 50 minutes playtime swapping out the batteries. This is enough time though to hold the attention of most children (and adults). The truck is very rugged and will take a beating as you flip and ram it into trees or sofas, when using indoors. This has unlocked my younger self! I have had so much fun playing with this car. My only concerns are durability and let me be specific. The controller is cheap and brittle, it feels like it’s going to fall apart if I drop it. The Truck itself is solid, durable, tough. I hope this toy will last me a while, but the controller needs some better material. Aside from that, it’s fast and responsive and the range is a good distance.
