I have been looking for this type of conduit for years since I have very little width between the wall and my hung TV. So for years I couldn't get another charging brick to fit back there & my Chromecast TV sat in its box never having been used. Now this bridge has made powering my CCwGTV a plug & play activity,on my 11 year old HDTV. Yes, using your USB port does have a reboot like latency but 15 secs to start up isn't going to kill me. The good... This is a nice little product - it acts as a rechargeable battery pack to power your Chromecast using the power from the USB port from your tv. This has the benefit of freeing up a socket on your power strip or wall outlet, or running a cord across the wall. The could be better... It doesn't come with any instructions, and is shipped in a plain box labeled 'power cord for your Chromecast". Also, the purchase page If you're buying this as a gift, you'll need to explain what this is in the note section of your order. The purchase page also notes that this unit should be given an initial 'charge' of 10 minutes before the first use - again, the lack of included instructions would be helpful here. Lastly, if you use your USB port for other applications (powering game peripherals or for video storage), you'll need to decide on which use is more important to you.

Watching a game on a Saturday morning, just about to score, and I get the "Is the power on?". Check it over and all seems ok, change this out for the AC and I'm back to the game. Unit appears to be dead. Would not recommend.

Totally solved the problem where my Chromecast was about 5 ft away from the outlet making it very ugly when connecting from my TV. For the looks of it, this item is basically a miniature battery that charges through your TVs USB port to power the Chromecast with the correct voltage. Been a week so far and I haven't seen any weird glitches or power resets so far. Though what concerns me is that I tend to use my Chromecast using moonlight to stream my gaming. I get the feeling that I might end up using more power than what the battery can provide. If I do get that problem then I will update this review. However so far it's been perfect to make my cord management a lot neater and to use for casual TV watching and screaming. So far it's kind of a must have if using a Chromecast since I don't recall ever using my TV's USBs for anything else.

The best part of this is to not see the cords. The con is you have to wait for the chromecast to boot up when you turn on your TV.

I was skeptical at first that this would work, but it does! The chromecast fires right up. I have it plugged into a USB port on the back of my projector, now no more extra wires!

This works with with Chromecast with Google TV as advertised. The only thing you need to know is that if your TV is off then the Chromecast will not be powered. You will need to turn on your TV first and wait for the Chromecast to wait. It's not a huge deal. But something to keep in mind otherwise you will think that it doesn't work. Though some TV might be different where the USB port will always be powered.
