The price, the lithium ion battery instead of lead acid like some other rechargeable speakers, and the good reviews, persuaded me to buy this Pyle-PSBT85A portable 8” bluetooth PA speaker. (Purchased New) It arrived just in time to use with my little 10” rechargeable TV after my regular TV quit working. The tiny speaker on the 10” TV sounds kinda harsh, but the ‘line in’ feature on the Pyle speaker made it easy to plug into the ‘line out’ on my 10” TV, giving me a much better listening experience while using the 10” rechargeable TV till I could get a regular TV again. This Pyle speaker also easily connected to my mini mac through bluetooth for listening to music through iTunes. I also have a set of Altec 2.1 powered desktop speakers that’s missing the subwoofer, but with a 3.5mm (1/8”) TRS cable I am able to plug this Pyle speaker into the subwoofer port on one of the Altec speakers, and it works great especially having the iTunes EQ to tailor the sound. At the price I paid ($79) I can’t really expect it, but a built in EQ on this Pyle speaker would make it an even better powered speaker with greater ‘stand alone’ sound tailoring. When I plugged it into my Pyle 4 channel Pro Mixer, Its EQ made the speaker sound like a more expensive speaker, it brought out more of its capabilities. I did a lot of searching before I decided to go with the Pyle PSBT85A 8” speaker (I couldn’t afford their 10” or 12” speaker), and I’m very happy with it. It’s very versatile, portable, and can be stand mounted or placed on its side as a floor monitor for small gigs. The wireless microphone works, but I also plugged my Shure mic into the 1/4” Mic port and it works well through the Pyle speaker. I’m a singer songwriter musician on a very small budget, and I’m glad I purchased this Pyle speaker, it’s been very handy.

The Pyle Portable Bluetooth PA Speaker System (800W, 12 Inch, Outdoor with Built-In Party Lights) is a powerful little speaker that’s easy to set up and use. It connects quickly to Bluetooth and is small enough to be portable for casual use on the deck, yet loud enough to fill a room or outdoor space for parties. The sound quality is excellent with no distortion, and the included microphone makes at-home karaoke nights a lot of fun. It’s super functional with a wide variety of features, and the battery holds a charge for a long time—plus you can use it plugged in if needed. The expandable handle makes transport simple, and overall this system is lightweight, sturdy, and versatile. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a portable speaker that delivers both power and convenience.

As a professional musician I was looking for a small portable PA system to use in small rooms so I didn't have to carry my big system. I tried a Temu 8" system but the sound? No bass at all and a resonance peak at about 600 Hz that was the textbook example of "boxy". Sent it back and found this unit on sale for even less than the Temu. How's the sound? Really good and accurate, like a decent bookshelf speaker, but of course slightly lacking in bass, not bad at all. So the tablet that I keep my background tracks on has an EQ feature and a little boost takes care of it. I think I might have even found a way to eliminate the annoying LOUD voice prompts but won't say until I'm sure. I was just poking around, to be honest- and probably stumbled on the right button presses to do it. UPDATE: I held down the first button on the left (that switches from line to bluetooth) for a long time and that seemed to do the trick. No more voice prompts!

I originally gave this speaker three stars, but after actually trying to use it and dealing with Pyle customer support, I have lowered my rating. The PPHP128B is extremely lightweight, and unfortunately it feels cheaply made. One small example says a lot about the quality control: there is a charging/status LED that is supposed to be visible through a small opening in the cabinet. On mine, the LED is recessed inside the housing and isn't even aligned with the opening. I have to look sideways through the tiny hole just to see whether the light is on. The bigger problem came when I tried to put the speaker on a stand. Pyle sells the PSTND25 speaker stand, advertised for speakers with a standard 35 mm (1.375-inch) pole-mount connection. The PPHP128B has what certainly appears to be that standard pole-mount socket molded into the bottom. The Pyle stand fits into the opening, but the socket is so shallow and loose that the speaker wobbles and does not feel safely supported. I contacted Pyle. Their first explanation was that although their PSTND25 stand may physically fit the PPHP128B, this is a "portable, hand-carry speaker" and is not designed to be mounted on a speaker stand. That explanation raises an obvious question: Why does the speaker have a standard pole-mount socket on the bottom? I asked that question and also asked whether I was missing a tightening knob, sleeve, adapter, or some other piece of hardware. Pyle then acknowledged that its previous response had not fully addressed the issue and said it was contacting its Listing Manager to determine the purpose of the socket, whether additional hardware or an adapter was required, and what the appropriate solution was. I was told they would contact me as soon as they had an answer. They never did. The speaker produces sound and has plenty of features, but I bought a portable PA system to actually use at events. Between the lightweight construction, poor quality control, questionable stand-mount design, and the manufacturer's inability to tell me how its own speaker is supposed to work with its own stand, I cannot recommend it at this price. If you need something for more than casual use sitting on a table, I would spend the money on a better-built system.

This unit worked perfect. Used it for an outdoor wedding and it worked great. The microphone sound and distance capability was great, as well the Bluetooth connection had very impressive distance. The Bluetooth music input was easy and the sound was very impressive. Only thing that I didnt really like was the USB input as far as advancing the song, had a message that said "Next Song". However, 100% satisfied with this purchase.

This speaker is working out really well for us. My family and I are seasonal campers. We spend quite a bit of time lounging on the pond soaking up the sun. Between me and my father in law we are always taking turns playing music from our phones. On really hot days it stinks because you have to keep the phone somewhat covered so it doesnt overheat but when you do it blicks the sound a bit. We decided to splurge a bit and order this portable bluetooth speaker. It may be a bit of an overkill since this is a larger size speaker but we have used ait a few times and it works great. The speaker has its own wheels and handle so it can easily be brought wherever we need it. It is lightweight and works wirelessly!! That was the part that really sold us is that it doesnt need to be plugged in. It also comes with a microphone and the volume goes pretty high. We didnt need anything to loud since we want to be respectful of others on the beach this one is perfect! There are even light effects that can be turned on to really add some flair. My father in law is thrilled to have this speaker. He came walking onto the beach last weekend with the biggest smile on his face. The first speaker that arrived had a small issue and one of the speakers crackled a bit. I reached out to customer service and with no hesitation they offered to send me a brand new speaker. The new speaker has no issues at all. If you are in the market for a nice quality, mid grade karaoke speaker with a microphone this is really a great choice! I am going to have to see how to use the karaoke part because I think that may make this even more fun! We are stoked with this speaker and would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I got this speaker back in 2021 instead of renting a sound system for my friend's small outdoor wedding. It performed great and we had music for the entire 5 hour ceremony and reception. Since then I have been bringing it to work (i am a librarian and run several programs throughout the year) and it has been a great tool to have on hand and has even replaced the built in sound system in the library's theater for a few programs when it went down last winter. Battery life is fantastic and I only need to charge it every 6 programs or so (every couple months unless I have a 4+ hour program). It's also super light weight compared to the ones the library bought in the past for story time in the park programs so it is easy for me to carry to offsite locations, even without a cart or wagon. Sound quality can get iffy if the volume is all the way up, but that is the only real issue I've had and I rarely need to turn it up that loud unless I'm trying to cover a large area like the winter solstice festival we ran last night in the park outside the library. Overall a great speaker and I would absolutely buy again if my current one ever dies.
