  • plug and play
I run a logging show that lasts about 3 hours and have been using a hand held microphone so I took a chance on these. I wasnt sure this is what I needed and I am not very technically inclined. The instructions were short and sweet and I was up and running with no issues. The battery life is about 3 hours so it died right at the very end. Overall very please with the ease of use and performance. ... show more

  • Good overall, but the wire may break if you sit down while you're speaking
These lasted about 7 months, however please read on...the flaw in its design for my use is the quite delicate wire sticking out of the transmitter (yes, I know many brands of these are designed with such a wire). But as a teacher, I teach both standing and sitting down (using my document camera, computer). When I would sit down, the wire would get bent by my torso. This happened when I clipped it to my front pocket. I also tried clipping the transmitter to my back pocket, but then the wire would hit the back of my chair occasionally. Both transmitters broke the same way - the delicate wire broke. So if you are planning on talking while sitting in a chair, I would search on for something else. But in terms of the quality of sound and reliability of connection these were great. They did pick up a bit of interference sometimes, but not nearly as bad as the 2.4GHz transmitters in other products that I have tried before this one (2.4GHz is the same frequency as Wi-Fi, so you might hear a constant high-pitched buzz if you use a 2.4GHz product). (P.S. I just purchased a Bietrun UHF product to replace this, and it has the transmitter is in the headset...hopefully this will work better for my use.) ... show more

  • So they can hear
For the price, they were really good not the best sounding but if you’re just using them for speaking, you’ll be fine. We use him at a nursing home to preach messages. I think the more important part is what you’re using them on

  • Pyle of garbage
The instructions do not make any sense nor do they actually do what they say it will do on them. “Hold down button while power on unit until LED flashes for four seconds”. Multiple people on the reviews state that this does not even happen and they are correct. I bought two units and neither did this. One set worked for ten minutes after just randomly juggling things. It drained the varieties provided quickly so once we replaced the batteries we were unable to pair them again. We had multiple people attempting this including a video and sound expert. Support has taken days to reply via email and since I opened these boxes well after the purchase date (having not needing to use them yet) they’re only concern is letting me know that I’ll have to pay over $60 out of pocket for replacement parts of these cheap, plastic garbage units. No concern that their instructions are flawed and that both units are an issue. Fine, whatever. I guess I’m throwing money out of the window, but you don’t have to. I just bought the SYNCO wireless lavs and they are INCREDIBLE right out of the box. They thought if absolutely everything with them. These dinosaurs at Pyle using cheap equipment don’t even come close. Save your money and sanity ... show more

  • Unboxing, Parts, Operation and & A VERY, VERY, BAD THING.
First of all the box didn’t match the product description on Amazon. The Amazon listing showed the receiver, the 2 transmitters, along with 2 lavaliere microphones and 2 headsets. The cover of the box I received showed the same transmitters and receiver, but only 1 lavaliere mic and one headset. So I start out grumpy and thinking I need to send it back. Then my wife suggests I open the box—she is smart like that—and inside was the additional mic and headset. This explains why the box had a slight bulge to it, it looks like they stuffed more than the box was designed to hold. Still had the PYLE seal tape on it. So all good. Everything listed was there. Batteries The rechargeable battery for the receiver is a large purple lithium battery. I put it into the receiver and then I plugged it to a charger using the USB cable provided. A USB charger is not provided, just the cable. It took about 3 1/2 hours to charge over USB. A solid red light came on when it started charging. It went out when it was charged. The purple battery doesn’t have any markings on it. I always try to have a backup battery handy. No info on the battery. I located a flashlight that uses the same size and then, after charging the purple battery, tested the voltage of both batteries to see if they were interchangeable—they are. The flashlight battery works in the receiver and it came with a wall charger. You can see the type of battery from the photos. There are also pics of the flashlight wall charger. Watch for deals on those types of flashlights and chargers and you can pick up a spare. Transmitters Positive: The Transmitters are light and have 2 really great features: They have a digital read out that shows frequency and they show battery level. The battery level is an absolute must. Way to go Pyle! The power/volume knob on the top is easy to access. Each transmitter takes 2 AA batteries and they can use rechargeable batteries. I like bring extra batteries and slapping them it if needed. So that was a good thing Both types of microphones plug in AND THEN screw into the transmitter. Negatives: That battery compartment. It just feels cheap and ready to break. If it was just for the batteries, I would worry less. But the fact that you need to open and close it whenever adjusting the frequency means more opening and closing than I am comfortable with. The first time I opened the battery compartment on the transmitter, my initial thought was that I need to make sure I have some tape packed with me to hold it in place when it breaks. It just feels that flimsy. Also the LED digital display on one of the transmitters was crooked, see photo. Speaks to quality control, but more on that later. Receiver I needed to use it with the 1/4 inch to mini-plug adapter, with that adapter it has some serious height on it. This makes me a little nervous. Seems like it could get bent easily. This observation was prophetic. The battery sliding battery cover feels cheap. There is also no explanation of the lights on the side as far as what color means what: Is red good? Bad? This makes it hard to trouble-shoot. It was supposed to be plug and play… The VERY, VERY BAD THING and a solution And this is where I got grumpy again: The receiver and the transmitter wouldn’t pair up no matter what. The printed directions to pair up are flawed. They tell you to press the “down” button at the same time as the “on” button until it flashes 4 times “and then release the ‘up’ button” Huh? No help here. SO I try every combination, everything, I mean everything. Nothing flashes, nothing works. Wishing I had sent it back before my wife told me to open the box—I was gearing up to blame her. And then I decided to test every component by itself. Went through everything—And I finally I get down to the adapter. The little tiny 1/4 inch to 3.5mm adapter. On closer inspection it appears to be slightly bent—so I get the multimeter out and…it doesn’t check out for continuity: It. doesn’t. work. I dig in my wiring box and find a Radio Shack adapter from the 80s. It is a stereo plug, not mono, but I try it. It works. Guess what? Now everything works. The volume on the transmitters isn’t as loud as I want them to be, but they will do and I will keep them. Now I am a little concerned that I was sent a damaged adapter, does that mean that I was given a return? The plastic cover coating on the transmitters WAS scraped up a bit. The LED read-out on one transmitter WAS askew. There WERE scratches near the down buttons—maybe someone went through the same thing I went through? Will update after using them. ... show more
