  • Love by first sight and broke up due to mutual understanding
Style: Mini Tube Amplifier
When all is said and done... a song by Abba in 1982 - reminds me much of once I purchased this valve bulb amplifier. I loved it at first sight when it was released in 2020 branded as my favourite, the one and only valve tube amp under the trademark of Pyle USA, which I am a big fan of. The wisdom revealed from this amp is the dual design mentality of combining solid state together with the airy musical sublime audiophile sense of valve and bulb that conglomerated aesthetic plus musical beauty. When it was first plugged in for audition, what kicked it out from my collection list was its incapability of having the potential of getting higher and full gain of volume that could satisfy your needs in the human earbuds. I could be a bass hungry freak while wearing overhead earphones and or BT earbuds nowadays listening to casual pop and rock hit songs, but in my leisure listening time, I never have that chase in real hifi audiophile listening sessions. I demand another level of music listening satisfaction and joy. The parameters of good music would be another level of standards and requirements. And full volume is a must not because of its incapability of giving me an earthshaking and too loud to near deaf status, but a sense of rounded and airy delicate of fullness that only a full fletch of reserved power that allows to tune the volume knob at about 8 o'clock position, and it will then let me feel how much power it reserves for me to tune and twist my volume level in listening situations like hearing the crescendo and full vibrant of explosion of instrumental cadence at their optimum of presentation, and that makes me feel my tears are brought of the musical notes to me. It is truly my own personal demand and needs of joy in terms of one self expectation. Sad as it was, this piece of kit - Pyle Valve Amp did not pass and neither proved its fitting my need. And therefore, absolutely in a harmonious term, we brought ourselves to the verge of leading towards a final break-up. I returned the item and for sure, when I see myself remembering all these today, I am definitely falling again in a lyrical moment that I am indeed missing my ex so much... ... show more

  • plenty of watts, not enough nuance, questionable signal path/design. Still, it's aight.
Style: Black Tube Amplifier
giving a five star review strictly out of the insane reduced price point. I've got mine at through Amazon Black Friday at its usual list. Price definitely would've gotten four stars. A quick YouTube search of the model PVT 80 or Nobsound, or any other hybrid amps in this price range will unveil to you the world that is purchasing imported electronics. However, if you're like me, past when enthusiast becomes modification repair and fabrication hobbiest: there's a lot of really interesting published upgrades you can do if you know how your basic electronics repair and are familiar with working on PCBs. Oddly, though altogether, I think that Pyle's smaller two-tube (6k4?) hybrid amp (PVTA20?) is the best overall. Similarly i thought the PVTA90 was lacking more so than this PVTA80. maybe i didn't wait long enough to break in the tubes, maybe i got one assembled by a some armless guy in a sweatshop holding the soldering iron in his mouth. I don't know man. They're chinese amps. So it's going to be a Chinese amp still every day for the rest of its life you own it. Manage expectations and whatnot. with mine again, not sure if it's just the part I was unlucky to get, but the internal fan that came with mine is really annoyingly loud. Have you ever had a computer that had malware running the CPUGPU hard as h3ll and would kick the fans up to like 150% Standard power, reminds me a little bit like that. It has treble and bass boost/cut shelf equalization, I have no idea where the signal path that happens swear to God it seems like it would be after the preamp somehow because of how poorly toned it is using that feature. whether i am using bluetooth direct in to the amp, or playing vinyl, which i have a tube preamp and a cheap 7-ch EQ it runs through before the RCA-ins on the back: the unit can do +/-14 (imaginary units), but i've never gone beyond +4 for the treble especially, and +6 for the bass. It gets unwieldy fast. Really quite curious. Changing the type of tubes or rating or color of them does not result in as great a difference as I know ought be expected. I am pretty sure I am running mind on a pair of home theater speakers that are custom built to 3 ohms total, and it's not uncommon for any amp advertised to operate 4-8ohm to handle that no problem. But for those thinking it, no I initially had a different speaker set that was 6 ohm per channel and the sound issues were just the same. have i said enough yet? ... show more

  • thing NEEDS ohms (8 at least) or it goes straight to auto-protect somethings horribly wrong state.
Style: Black Tube Amplifier
For the money this thing's pretty swell. Some folks reviewing here report dreadful noises when first setting up.... I got those loud intermittent noises and no music first time I turned mine on. After grabbing a couple other speaker cabs it became quite clear what was going on, clear as crystal in fact when I finally gave up and hooked it to my Marshall 4X12A and 4X12B cabs...this thing NEEDS ohms (8 at least) or it goes straight to auto-protect somethings horribly wrong state....usually causing the fellow sitting right in front of the speaker much anxiety. ... show more

  • will AVOID buying anything pyle
Style: Mini Tube Amplifier
I am getting static with the PVTA20 Amp after a few months. Tried to get it covered under warranty, and I basically got ghosted. Now it has been over a year and they will not do anything.

  • Blown away!!!!
Style: Copper Tube Amplifier
One of the best sounding amps I've ever had yes it hums if you turn it up full volume, seems pretty normal for a tube amp. Honestly the frequency response from this amplifier is very exceptional. Exceptional speakers deserve an exceptional amp to match with it. 500% price to value ratio.
