I have been playing the heck out of this 1/4 size classical nylon guitar and it's time for my review. I am no beginner. I call myself a guitar hack, as my technical knowledge of music theory is um, spotty. I am a full sized 71 year old adult 5'8" with average sized hands. I enjoy playing the smaller sized guitars and never expected this little guy to boom out like a 41" dreadnot guitar. It has a 20" scale and is 30" end to end. It arrived quickly and I saw no visible damage. As for tuning it? I need to say we live on the big island Puna District. We leave our windows open always. The climate, humidity, etc make it impossible for any hollow body acoustic to stay in tune overnight. Ever. Tune it in the early day, and it will go sharp overnight. Having said that, the tuners are just okay. They do the job. The guitar has a decent finish. I am going to add fret markers on the side of the neck just like on my steel string acoustics. Classical guitars have few fret markers, and I need the full set. It comes with a bare minimum gig bag with no real padding and a storage pocket. Spare set of strings, A capo, and a strap. Has a strap pin in the end of the body and none at the top, but the strap has a string to tie that end onto the neck. No tuner came with it. Too bad because I have bought four Pyle acoustics and they came with great rechargeable tuners that I love. The neck seems straight and does not have a truss rod. Many classical guitars, even full sized ones like Yamaha do not have truss rods. This one has no "kerfing" inside. My Pyle 34" steel string acoustic has full kerfing. This 30" is tuned to standard guitar tuning, EADGBE. I'm quite sure, with the right strings, one could tune it down five frets to A and call it a guitelele, like my Yamaha GL-1. I plan to leave it standard tuning. It developed a bit of a fret buzz caused by the 3rd fret. When pressing down the D string the second fret it would buzz. The harder you picked that string, the worse it was. I agonized whether I should send it back or not for a couple weeks. Then, after a particularly hot dry spell here, the buzzing quite. I have played this every day. I like to grab my guitar whenever I want and I may pick it up and play 10-15 times a day. I have grown to really love this handy little classical and enjoy the nylon strings and sound it gives me is very nice! I am going to install a piezo pickup inside the body and will have to drill a small hole for the input jack. I could see myself playing one or two of my original songs at an open mic night using one of my amps. I'm a blues oriented player. I like I play slide, and I often use a slide with this guitar. I tune the high E sting down 2 frets to a D, as it really gives a fuller sound with a slide. I love this little bugger and would buy it again. My kitty liked it too!

So far so good. Just learning to play. The only quirk is that one of the strings is hard to tighten and seems like it’s going to break when I tighten it but so far it hasn’t. Wish the last two thinnest strings B and E were a little less elevated to be easier to hold down. Good deal for the price I paid.
