Skeptical at first, but this ran perfectly in my HP Pavilion school laptop. I actually meant to grab 2x8GB sticks so I put this in a gaming laptop instead. It worked perfect in it as well. Very good RAM!

I had Windows 11 previously and it was a dog on this laptop in the factory 8GB configuration. Installed Linux and it was much better, but still, I wanted the ability to run VMs, and I didn't want to buy a new laptop to get more RAM, so I decided to buy this 16GB kit. Before install, I ran a full Memtest86 cycle on the original memory, as the factory config is 4GB soldered on the board with a 4GB SODIMM. That passed, so I continued to the install. Install was pretty easy as I just had to remove all the screws from the bottom of the laptop and carefully peel back the entire bottom of the case. Then I was able to remove the factory 4GB SODIMM and install the Puskill 16GB SODIMM. After that put the case back together and the install was complete. There was a moment of panic when I first turned the laptop back on as nothing seemed to happen, but I guess the BIOS was just getting used to the new RAM. A hard reset and it booted right up. I ran another Memtest86 cycle with the new module installed and with my slow 1.2 ghz Core i3 (turbo 3.4) it took about 7 hours to complete the full 4 pass test cycle. Happily, the new memory passed the test! I proceeded to boot up and it was great. With 20GB total now on the system, I was able to allocate 8GB to my Windows 11 IoT LTSC VM and that runs much better. I then proceeded to launch as many Linux apps as I possibly could and everything was stable, got up to around 18GB of RAM used with 1.5GB of swap in use and everything was stable and fast. Overall I'm really happy this was easily compatible with my cheap IdeaPad 3. I think this memory was also a good value for the money considering the high price of memory nowadays. I think I can extend the life of this laptop for a few more years thanks to this upgrade. Overall, I recommend this item!
