This dog food provided my old girl with everything she needed in a diet as we navigated her senior years. As she got older, I very quickly realized how difficult it is to find a dog food made specifically for older seniors, especially medium to large sized dogs. I was glad to come across this brand and even more happy at the quality of the food. My dog never experienced any GI upset while on it, even when I switched to it from her previous food, and she also loved the taste. With previous foods, I usually had to add some kind of wet topper or sprinkle cheese to encourage her to eat it, but that was never the case with this kind. Being able to purchase this kind in a larger sized bag was also convenient and it usually lasted us through the month, if not longer. Some might look at the price and think the food is too costly, but in terms of quality, you pay for what you get, and this dog food is no exception to that. My old girl passed away at the beginning of this year. Her loss has been very difficult to deal with, as she was by my side for over half my life. Several days after saying goodbye, I realized I still had over half a container of her food left. I don't have any other dogs and I couldn't fathom tossing it in the trash. I ended up taking it to my local ASPCA in hopes that it made another senior dog as happy as it did my girl. I'm glad I was able to find a quality food to give her during her golden years. My heart is still recovering from her loss, but in time I know I'll be ready to share my life with another furry friend. I hope to go back to my ASPCA and adopt a senior dog in need of a home. This will be my dog food of choice to ensure they enjoy their golden years all the same. ... show more

I don’t like when I’m on subscribe and need more that I have to pay more than the subscribe amount and I really don’t like it when it says I can get it in two days and then it takes four. If I run out I have to go buy even more. So the product is awesome but I’m not happy with Amazon’s policy for subscribers. I am finding it doesn’t work for me on several different products. We've been feeding Abby grain free dog food (because that's what's the in thing to do). She has been terribly itchy scratchy and our vet suggested going to a regular dog food and that she may actually need good grains. After researching, we settled on trying Purina Pro Plan with probiotics. Starting off like they suggest with gradually adding to her old food. She LOVES this new food and noses around looking for these bits! But, oh my lord, the epic gas! Holy wow! And they are silent and just hit you -- I'd bet if we looked close, we could see the smelly stink bombs. We're hoping that things settle down after her body gets used to this new food that she loves. ... show more

When my dog turned one year old and needed to switch to adult food, I bought a small bag of all the top rated dog foods and did a taste test. The Purina One Shredded Beef and Rice was the one that she will eat consistently and did not make her sick. It is a unique blend instead of all the bites being the same size and consistency. I feel good that this is not only the one she likes the taste of but it is also top rated for nutrition. It may be pricey, especially with a 90 pound dog, but it is worth it. ... show more

Must taste good, my dog goes for this every time when I put out three or four different brands in a taste test, all of them top name brands with no junk dog food in the lineup. I have done this SEVERAL times and he tastes each one, seems to like them all.....but comes back to Purina Pro Plan to finish the bowl. No kidding. So Purina must be doing something right with the smell & taste of this, both the beef and chicken varieties have my dog (a Samoyed) choosing it every time! ... show more
